Helloww! Come climb with us at Bukit Keteri in Perlis, Malaysia 🇲🇾⛰️!

We heard about Bukit Keteri from @climbing_backpackers and a couple friends, and had to check it out for ourselves.

Thanks to @perlis_climb_development for maintaining the crag and answering our questions.

Tips:
⭐️It is entirely possible to take a train to Arau and walk to the crag.
⭐️There are several other crags in the state of Perlis. We passed so many on the drive to Bukit Keteri that looked just as grand.
⭐️As Perlis is predominantly Muslim, it’s respectful to cover up in settings where modesty is expected, like mosques and religious sites.
⭐️It’s pretty humid, so bring electrolytes and plenty of water!

Come with me to hike Mt Hallasan! 🏔️☀️

When I was researching day hikes to do while I was in Jeju, I was utterly terrified by Mt Hallasan because everyone was either saying it was super easy or super difficult. If you want to tackle this one, I personally think you should consider yourself pretty fit and have done a mountainous day hike before. The hiking was essentially walking up (very slippery) stairs for 8 hours, and there was a lot of rest stops, people and infrastructure. Perfect to do while solo travelling or a day out with friends!

If you’re after something a bit easier, Seongsan Ilchulbong is a very chill alternative. It’s a 30 minute round walk of another UNESCO crater. The stairs are pretty steep and it’s ticketed, but the views are well worth the visit!

I hope if you’re considering adding this to your itinerary, this gives you some more perspective that you might not find on websites and blogs.

Join @melissa.wong_ and me on our two-week holiday to South Korea! 🇰🇷 We went in early December — the perfect season to witness Seoul’s first snow and pick Jeju’s tangerines.

Travel tip: Use Naver for everything you need for navigation and bookings in South Korea.

📍 Seongsu — 3 nights
We loved how cute this area was — full of designer pop-ups and cafés. It’s relatively expensive though, and in hindsight we would’ve preferred to base ourselves mainly in Myeongdong/Hongdae and do day trips here instead.
⭐️ Highlights ⭐️
• DMZ tour ($$ but worth!)
• Jayeondo Sogeumppang (Salt Bread)
• Somunnan Seongsu Gamjatang
• Gwonsig Jogbal
• Market In U (Thrift store)

📍 Busan — 3 nights
Such a scenic, local coastal city.
⭐️ Highlights ⭐️
• SPA LAND Centum City (our first jjimjilbang experience!)
• Markets in the city centre — fresh seafood and street food.

📍 Jeju — 4 nights
My personal highlight of the trip! We rented a car from SK Rental, which was very easy and necessary. Driving on the right took some adjusting, but Jeju drivers are patient. Use lots or marked bays to park to avoid fines.
⭐️ Highlights ⭐️
• Mt Hallasan Hike (free entry) — I did the Seongpanak route. Book via the national park website. Be cautious in December due to snow (bring spikes!).
• Seongsan Ilchulbong — a 30-minute round walk to the crater, and a Haenyeo show around 2pm daily.
• Onulun Green Tea House (free entry)— If choosing between this and Osulloc, PICK ONULUN. Smaller, quieter, and absolutely magical.

📍 Myeongdong — 4 nights
We ended the trip back in Seoul to pamper ourselves and shop till we dropped.
⭐️ Highlights ⭐️
• MIMILINE — accessories & keychains
• Olive Young — a must
• Vintage Santa (Hongdae)
• ORMUSEA (Hongdae)
• National Museum of Korea
• War Memorial of Korea

hellooww!! join my #bouldering session at @climbing_park_seongsu during my holiday to south korea. it felt so liberating to throw myself at dynos over and over again without rolling my ankle :3

💲 ₩15000 entry (excluding shoe hire)
🧳we stored our luggage here under a full day pass. it allowed us to climb, grab lunch, shop, then come back all in time to catch a train to busan at the end of the day.
📍seongsu is famous for its cafes and fancy shops. remember to allocate lots of luggage and tummy space for the goodies you may encounter!

one sesh red at collingwood — mega seshie today :33 happy to be back indoor bouldering!

this one was all about trusting the foot. the coordination of sticking the right hand slightly before the left after the gaston also works wonders.

Helloow!! This is my first vlog! Kinda random, maybe cringe, very unplanned, but I just love that I get to do this with lovely people I met from @m.u.m.c .
I have learned that granite and Ai Wei are not the best combo but was a very valuable experience :)

Some more details:

📍Grampians National Park (Gariwerd)
🏕️ Stapylton Campground
Bouldered at Andersons (AMAZING)
Tried to approach the Ravine from I Forget Walls (we do bot recommend unless you want to bushbash and potentially swim in stagnant water)

📍Mt Buffalo
🏕️ Lake Catani Campground
Sport crag is called Dreamworld
Limited reception at campsite for some services
Lovely hot showers and a swimmable alpine lake
