My top 5 lessons learned in Year 1 as “KANJI.”

1. Network and connections are everything.
You never know who you’ll run into again, so build bridges and carry positive energy everywhere🤝🏽 My first show as direct support for Dabin was through a friend from college

2. You’ll sacrifice time and $$$.
It ain’t cheap to persue this path so make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons🎧 I saved up from working as an engineer for a few years to invest back into music. Living at home saves hellla💵

3. You WILL mess up.
But getting back up and at it is better than giving up💪🏽 Learn from it. I accidentally, hit the wrong button and stopped the music at my first show lol. We’re still alive, just played my 2nd show, and no issues at all. Even met a few fans!🤘🏽

4. Producing opens up so many doors.
Invest in learning how to produce professional tracks. I built my aritst project from releasing singles and remixes. I want to make sure people know I’m a force of energy before even stepping onto a stage.

5. *MINDSET IS KEY*
If your headspace isn’t clear and there’s too many distractions, you’ll be pushing a boulder up a hill. Shoutout to @nikcherwink and the ‘Headliner Mindset’ community. I joined a few months back and I’ve been clear on how to fix my headspace when I get thrown out of it + growing with other amazing artists is such a blessing🔥

‘Paper Planes’ ✈️

The 3rd KANJI single is finally out and I never thought it’d be this deep. Hearing these lyrics surprised me - I’ve always felt like everyone else is older and I’m still ‘young.’ Don’t get me wrong, I still do, but for a bit it hit me that time really doesn’t stop for anyone. Gotta make the most of what we got and keep chasing those dreams no matter how childish it may seem💙
