The U.S. Consulate General in Barcelona has officially named its Multi-Purpose Room in honor of the late Ambassador Ruth A. Davis, IWEC's co-founder and Founding Chairwoman.

As the first African American U.S. Consul General in Barcelona (1987-1991), she left an incredible mark on the city, including securing the new consulate building and supporting the 1992 Olympics. IWEC Board Member Nuria Basi and Co-Founder Adela Subriana were honored to attend the ceremony and represent the foundation as we celebrate her trailblazing legacy in diplomacy and global business. 🌍✨

A longtime supporter of the Foundation, Nuria has been actively involved with IWEC since its inception in 2007. Based in Barcelona, she was also a close friend and trusted colleague of our founder, Ruth A. Davis.
Nuria brings a distinguished and accomplished career to the Board, along with extensive experience serving on numerous corporate, nonprofit, and educational boards.
