Yes, I’m triggered when someone asks me “why don’t you consider birth control?” Especially if I shared what my period life is like.

Allow me to share some history on my life:
I started using Provera at the age of 11 because i was bleeding past 2 weeks which was not normal.
Lost my periods between 13-14. Came back after I turned 14 and didn’t want to stop🧐
The doctors decided to put me on birth control -Novynette at the age of 14.
I was diagnosed with Anemia at the age of 16.
Had swollen lymph nodes in my neck at 17 (they thought maybe an STi without testing☠️☠️) what a bunch of quacks.
Diagnosed with PCOS (now #pmos) at the age of 18
During that time I was on and off birth control, provera, pain killers and iron supplements.
My body was not making back blood as fast as it needed to before the next bleed cycle.
Nearly bled to death at 19.
Got pregnant at 22, had my son at 23.
Stupid doctors quacks again, at San Fernando General hospital decided to leave a pad in my uterus to rotten for days.
I almost got septic.
Had to stop breast feeding.
If that was not enough, the doctors just diagnosed me with fibroids.
At the age of 27 when I almost bled to death again, I was diagnosed with Adenomyosis.

Adenomyosis is a chronic disease where the tissue which normally lines inside of the uterus, grows into the muscular wall. In my case it’s severely impacting the posterior wall.
This means I suffer a lot with lower back pain that radiates to my lower abdomen then down my thighs. #chronicpainawareness

Many times at the local clinic I’ll meet doctors who can’t even understand the pain I’m in. I have crazy nausea on day one to two. To the point I cannot eat or drink anything.
I lose weight, water weight if you call it, my clothes can’t fit unless I pump up the food to add pounds. #adenomyosisawareness

It’s very obvious that one cannot see what’s happening inside of another person’s body. One day I can walk 5km, and that very same day a bowel movement can cause me to be in excruciating pain for hours.

Two to three days of my period phase is spent at the local health Centre or private doctor office for treatment.
#morphine because it can help stop the pain receptors but if I’m already in what I can 13 on the scale of 10, I’ll need a cocktail to stop the pain.

#adenomyosis can flare up at any time but mostly in the days leading to my period phase.
Notably I plan my schedule around my period phase. So much so I push work and everything sometimes one week ahead for the “just in case” flares.
