Die besten Funde macht man oft ganz zufällig.

Eigentlich war ich nur auf der Suche nach einer passenden Acapella – und bin dabei über Rome Streetz’ “Overtime”-Performance bei Sway’s Universe gestolpert.

Für Hip-Hop-Heads braucht man zu Rome Streetz eigentlich nicht mehr viel sagen. Einer der stärksten MCs seiner Generation – kompromisslos, technisch überragend und immer mit echtem Straßenflair.

Die Vocals haben sich angefühlt, als wären sie für meinen Beat “Amigo” gemacht.

The best discoveries are usually the ones you never planned to make.

I was simply digging for an acapella when I stumbled across Rome Streetz’ “Overtime” performance on Sway’s Universe.

Hip-hop heads already know what Rome Streetz brings to the table—raw lyricism, elite pen game and uncompromising delivery.

Those vocals felt like they belonged on my beat “Amigo”.

Der Wu-Tang Clan war für mich der erste echte Einstieg in den US-Hip-Hop – und Method Man war vom ersten Moment an mein absolutes Lieblingsmitglied.

Seine markante Stimme, sein unverwechselbarer Flow und seine Ausstrahlung haben mich damals sofort gepackt und bis heute nicht mehr losgelassen.

Für diesen Blend habe ich das Acapella von „P.L.O. Style“ mit meinem Beat „Inspecta“ kombiniert – als kleine Hommage an einen Künstler, der meinen Musikgeschmack nachhaltig geprägt hat.

Wu-Tang Clan was my first real introduction to U.S. hip-hop, and from day one, Method Man stood out as my favorite member.

His unmistakable voice, effortless flow and unmatched charisma hooked me instantly and have stayed with me ever since.

Manche Songs fangen den Zeitgeist einer ganzen Ära ein.

Stadtrundfahrt gehört für mich genau in diese Kategorie. Für diesen Blend habe ich die Parts von Samy Deluxe und Paolo 77 über meinen Beat “City Lights” gelegt – als kleine Hommage an einen echten Deutschrap-Klassiker.

Leider war der Zustand der Schallplatte nicht der beste. Ein paar Knackser und Nebengeräusche sind deshalb bewusst im Mix geblieben – manchmal gehört das einfach dazu. 🎧

Some records capture the spirit of an entire era.

Stadtrundfahrt is one of those records for me. For this blend, I paired the verses from Samy Deluxe and Paolo 77 with my beat “City Lights” as a tribute to a true German hip-hop classic.

Unfortunately, the vinyl wasn’t in the best condition, so you may notice a few clicks and imperfections throughout the mix. That’s part of the charm.

Every now and then you discover something that instantly grabs your attention.

While searching for an 88 BPM acapella, I came across “Speechless” by Coast Contra. The chemistry, the delivery and the level of lyricism from all four MCs is something special.

I couldn’t resist putting those vocals over my Wu-Tang-inspired beat “WuDo”.

Gang Starr has always been one of those groups for me.

The combination of Premier’s production and Guru’s unmistakable voice created some of the most timeless hip-hop ever recorded. “You Know My Steez” remains a perfect example of why their music still resonates with so many people today.

Sometimes the best blends happen by accident.

I was digging through YouTube looking for acapellas around 88 BPM when I stumbled across “Speechless” by Coast Contra. Four MCs, four incredible performances and bars for days.

The energy immediately felt right for my Wu-Tang-inspired beat “WuDo”, so I had to see how it would sound.

Turns out these guys can rap over just about anything. 🔥

Much respect to Coast Contra for keeping lyricism alive and well.

Vocal: Cocoa Brovaz – “Super Brooklyn” (1999)

Some artists leave a mark that stays with you for decades.

Smith & Wessun have always been among mine and Mazzel’s favorite artists. Their music, their style and that unmistakable Brooklyn sound have been a huge part of our hip-hop journey.

For this blend, I took the acapella from “Super Brooklyn” by the Cocoa Brovaz and paired it with my beat “Dark Knight”.
