So we somehow turned one cooking session into a full-blown feast😎😎

We made chicken burgers from scratch, baked our own buns, made mashed potatoes and whipped up a sauce to go with it.

And yes, Ricci Chicken Stock made an appearance in more than one place because when the flavour is good, why stop at one?🥰🥰

The Pink Blossom 🌸 🥃

Don’t let the name fool you. It’s a collision of worlds, where the vibrant, tart energy of Nigerian Hibiscus and the sharp heat of local ginger meet the smooth, triple-distilled warmth of Irish Whiskey.

The Ingredients (Serves 2)

1 Freshly Squeezed Lemon
2 Slices of Ginger (muddled)
50ml Homemade Ginger Syrup
50ml Homemade Hibiscus Syrup
50ml Egg white
Cinnamon (infused in syrups)
100ml Jameson Blended Irish Whiskey

Method
Add all ingredients to Shaker and Dry shake
Add Ice
Wet shake

Serve in Dessert Glass

Garnish
1 slice of Camamelized Lemon
Splotches of Hibiscus Syrup for the 'Blossom'

The heart of this drink is rooted in the Zobo culture of Nigeria. I took the hibiscus and ginger ingredients that define our local heat and refreshment and treated them with the respect of a high-end craft cocktail. It represents the artisanal branding and botanical focus you’re bringing to Lagos.

2024 was a lot, draining in so many ways, but I more than just survived. I came out of it with so much more than I went in with🥹

Took my writing seriously and attended EbonyLife Creative Academy, and I didn't just gain knowledge, I gained confidence in my abilities, experience, and a new family ❤️ @_imarue_ @akoko.rodrick @nkiruka_omeh @princewill1900 @eat_bado @cowrygod @chukschimdie @holuforworshe_sirm @merkialo @aesthetiik.b

I started a business @mides_play_sip and although it's still a work in progress, it's something I never thought possible, and I'm proud of myself 🫂

So many people to thank for the success of this year! Thank you, God! Without my baba on the throne, none of this would've been possible.
