Most home searches start with a list.

3 bedrooms.
2 bathrooms.
A certain neighborhood.
A certain price.

I think there’s a step before that.

Before we figure out what you’re looking for, I want to understand how you want to live.

Maybe you need more room for the people you love. Maybe you want less house and more life outside of it. Maybe you’re craving quiet. Walkability. Community. A fresh start. A place that simply feels good to come home to.

Those answers matter. Because finding home isn’t only about what you can buy. It’s about choosing a place that supports the life you’re building.

In honor of college move-in season… Dorm Move-In Bingo! 💚🏫

I’m getting ready to move my daughter into her new dorm at FAMU, so let’s just say I’ve been living and breathing dorm prep lately. 😂 Between the deliveries, storage solutions, decorating decisions and figuring out how we’re going to fit all this stuff into one little room, I started thinking about how much goes into making even the smallest space feel like home.

That’s the fun part for me. Making a space your own. Figuring out what works, adding the things you love and creating a place that feels good to come back to.

So, naturally, I made a bingo card. 😂 How many can you check off?

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit the Obama Presidential Center during its soft launch.

It was beautiful. Thoughtfully designed, engaging, and incredibly well curated. As expected, I found myself spending extra time with the education exhibits, reflecting on the power of opportunity, access, and what becomes possible when people are encouraged to dream bigger.

I couldn’t help but notice the contrast between the nostalgia and hope woven throughout the Center and much of what is happening in the country right now. Still, optimism has its place.

Most of all, I’m grateful I got to experience it with my daughter and family. It was a meaningful day and one that stayed with me long after we left.

Whew. What a ride.

Y’all… my baby was about to be an Aggie.

Chemical Engineering x HBCU narrowed that amazing list of 10 colleges down to 6. After a lot of thought, prayer, and a “final” decision…

Decision Day pictures were taken. My baby girl was headed to Greensboro to become an Aggie (seriously y’all, see the pics)…

And then… 48 hours later…

MY alma mater said hold on just a minute 💚🧡

Florida A&M University came through RIGHT on time with an offer we couldn’t refuse 💰

Now it’s official. She’s headed to the highest of 7 hills, and I couldn’t be more excited.

God has an amazing way of working things out.

FAMU, my love… be as good to her as you were to me. 🐍💚
