Today’s been full.

Full of ease. Full of love.
Full of messages. Full of gifts.
Full of offerings. Full of prayer.

Full of space filled with people who laugh big laughs, smile wide, and squeeze you tightly with every hug.

Full of spirit.
Full of God.
Full of Orisha.
Full of Yemaya.

I am honored to have been given the opportunity to see myself as God sees me.

To have others usher me along the shore.
To teach me how to swim in the ocean.
To give me grace along the way.

If it has taken seven years to get here, I can only imagine what the next seven will bring.

🧿 Yemaya drowns my enemies.
Yemaya removes those who do not align with my destiny.
Yemaya strengthens my relationships with women, sisters, mothers, and daughters.
Yemaya brings me stability.
Yemaya brings me strength.
Yemaya brought me to Yemoja Sade. 🧿

Gratitude is a hug from God.

Given freely, but received with thanks, for the present, and for what is yet to come.

My life is a miracle.

I should not be here.
I should not be walking.

Yet, I am.

1. I did a thing. I’ve really been pushing myself to tap in to my writing and I did just that. I’ve been writing almost daily for the last six months. Thank you @ms.roiyalty for gifting me The Artist Way to start my journey.

2. Journal completed! October 2023 to February 2024.

4. Literally woke up one day and said to myself, “I want to do a writing session!” It’s been some time since I’ve led workshops or facilitated an intimate session. Who I am and how I show up in my writing it totally different. I texted my people the idea and it was scheduled instantly.

I am a Santeria priestess of Yemoja. This tradition has saved my life and those I love. It will also save those I love that are to come. It will heal my lineage and dominate my legacy.

This tradition is one of answers. Sacrifice. Solutions. Offerings. Teachings. It is one of messages, and sometimes not always knowing the meaning. This tradition is the diagnosis and medicine.

When you become a priest, there’s an aspect of the process that speaks on your life and destiny. It provides the good, the cautionary things, prophecy, guidance, and sometimes even to do list.

One of those for me was giving my time once a year as Saint Lazarus, the beggar in the Bible. In Luke 16:19–31, the lesson learned is that true riches start in your heart, your faith in God, and how you love your life.

There were moments today where I felt invisible. Literally no eye contact was given, almost as if on purpose. There were moments when emotion came over me, I wept, with every donation and dollar put in my cup. Thinking about what happens when the tears dry up. When the money doesn’t come. There were moments where I felt objectified. Men, would turn their necks and stare at me until they passed. When I didn’t want to get up and walk up to cars, with my cup.

God is everything even when we forget. God is gracious. God is merciful. God is compassionate. God is forgiving. God is abundant. Lessons are not meant to break you, but build you. God is everything even when we forget. I think most of all, we forget we too are breathing temples and representations of God.

May we never be so far removed from God that we always find our way back. To understanding it doesn’t take much to show another person grace, compassion, to be of service. To love. To forgive. Be less of yourself in 2022 and more of God.

I know too many who’s lives are testimonies. For each breath, a miracle. The chants that come to pass. The prayers, whispered. The doubt, removed.

I know too many who can count the ways, time and time again how God shows out when the time is right.
