At the #WorldNuclearExhibition, #WNE2025 in vibrant Paris, the Indian Youth Nuclear Society (#IYNS) leaders, Dr. Nitendra Singh @nuke_nits and Dr. Samyak Munot @samyakmunot27293, represented the youth voice of India’s nuclear ambitions at the #IndiaPavilion.

The #IndiaPavilion was warmly inaugurated by His Excellency 𝐌𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐣𝐞𝐞𝐯 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚, 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚’𝐬 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐨, a moment of pride and promise.

Why is #WNE2025 a landmark event? Because it’s more than just an exhibition, it’s a celebration of global commitment and cutting-edge innovation.

For the first time, nuclear energy shines in the spotlight of the #COP28 #ClimateAgreement, with 22 nations pledging to 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫’s contribution and landmark 𝐍𝐞𝐭 𝐙𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐬 coming into force.

#FusionEnergy, long the dream of scientists, now commands center stage with the 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐅𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩’s recent launch by the IAEA, pushing humanity closer to a clean energy revolution.

And for India, this is historic, the first #WNE since unveiling our ambitious #NuclearEnergyMission2047, along with transformative policy updates in 2024 and 2025.

To showcase India’s growing nuclear industry journey and innovation, India Pavilion is there at #WNE for the first time.

And for the first time, #IYNS is involved in various capacities and activities, symbolizing the passion and potential of India’s young nuclear future leaders.

We’re excited to build bridges, spark collaborations, and invite everyone with a shared vision for sustainable energy to join this inspiring movement.

🔬 Honouring the Past, Empowering the Present, and Building the Nuclear Future

On the birth anniversary of the father of India’s nuclear programme, Dr. #HomiBhabha , we pay our respectful tributes to his visionary legacy. His conviction that technological self-reliance and advanced nuclear capabilities are fundamental to national sovereignty and development remains our guiding light.

Today’s announcement by the Central Government to push nuclear technology courses and build a 2.5 lakh strong skilled nuclear workforce across IITs, NITs, and premier institutes is a historic step forward.

For over a decade, this is precisely the vision #IYNS Research Foundation has championed and actively built.

Under the leadership of our Founder & President, Dr. Nitendra Singh, IYNS has been pioneering nationwide nuclear capacity building since 2015. Driven by his dedication to bridging the gap between nuclear science, youth, and global industry, Dr. Singh envisioned a robust human resource foundation long before national policy mandates took shape.

Through our key flagship initiatives, IYNS has already trained tens of thousands of participants who are actively contributing across the nuclear sector:

🏫 Nuclear Education Boot Camps: Spreading awareness and sparking scientific curiosity across pan-India schools.

🎓 Nuclear Innovation Programs: Driving research, idea execution, and technical skills in regional universities.

🏭 Industry Leaders & Newcomers Training Program: Upskilling workforce, bridging academia-industry gaps, and preparing specialists for complex operations.

🌐 ITER International Internships Program: Providing high school students with exposure to frontier mega-science projects like fusion energy.

As India scales up its nuclear power ambitions toward 100 GW and beyond, IYNS Research Foundation stands ready to support, collaborate, and power India’s nuclear transformation.

“Nuclear Energy & Net Zero: The Missing Piece in Climate Conversations” and “Youth in Deep-Tech Climate Innovation” these are the crucial topics to discuss when we talk about climate action and sustainability.

To discuss this, our Vice-President, Dr. @samyakmunot27293, will speak at the Panel discussion in Pre-Summit Event, Bharat Climate Summit 2026-Campus Edition on 18th February 2026 at Delhi. You can watch the event in the link provided in story

What the budget say about Nuclear: #Budget2026 #Nuclear

1. Lower Import Costs for Critical Equipment
Imports of machinery, components, and materials needed for building and operating nuclear power plants, including capital goods and specialized hardware, will be exempt from basic customs duty. That reduces the upfront cost of equipment imported from abroad, which are often otherwise expensive due to tariffs.
Tariff lines that previously attracted 7.5 % duty (like fuel elements, absorber rods, etc.) are now brought down to nil for nuclear projects.

2. Encourages Faster Project Development
Nuclear power equipment and technology often involve high-technology imports (reactor internals, steam generators, turbines, control systems). Removing duties makes these imports cheaper and more predictable, helping utilities and developers plan and execute projects with lower financing costs.

3. Boosts Investment Confidence
By extending the duty exemption until 2035, the government is signaling a long-term policy commitment to nuclear energy development. This helps:
• Domestic companies plan long-term supply chains without fearing sudden tax changes.
• Foreign and private investors assess projects with greater certainty, as the tax benefit horizon has lengthened.

4. Expands Support to Smaller or New Nuclear Plants
Previously, such exemptions were often tied to specific project sizes or criteria. Now the benefit applies to all nuclear plants regardless of capacity, meaning:
• Even small modular reactors (SMRs) or new entrant projects can benefit.
• Helps diversify nuclear power growth beyond large traditional reactors.

5. Improves Cost Competitiveness vs Alternatives
Nuclear power equipment typically isn’t manufactured completely in India yet and relies on imports for specialized parts. By reducing or eliminating customs duty:
• The effective cost per MW of nuclear capacity becomes more competitive relative to other baseload or clean technologies (like renewables + storage). by @iyns.in

#Budget2026 #Nuclear
The budget 2026 has extended customs duty exemptions for imports of goods required for nuclear power projects until 2035. The exemption has been expanded to cover all nuclear plants, irrespective of capacity, providing long-term policy certainty for the strategic energy sector. – Nirmala Sitharaman
