I can’t put into words how seeing everything that has occurred in the last 24hrs has affected me. I’m not even on the ground and I can’t begin to fathom the psychological trauma my people are experiencing. How do the parents of the victims cope? How do I comfortably go about my day when others are suffering? How will I sleep tonight knowing someone somewhere is going through an irreconcilable loss. How do I sleep knowing a parent, brother, cousin and lover is crying for their loved one? The people who lost their lives cannot die in vain. Their story’s will be heard and and their praises sung. It is a sad reality of the situation, that these lives were lost for such a great change to occur. To the victims who had plans for tomorrow, hopes and dreams for the future, we will fulfil them. We will carry your mantle and continue on the ground for which your life paved the way. 20.10.2020 marked the beginning of a new way of life. The momentum built is too great to let dwindle. And when you look down on us from your place in the highest forms of heaven, you will see not only how far we came but how you and the future generations are the reason for what we do. So rest easy and rest in the highest form of power because our greatest strength of all came from the unforgivable sacrifice of your beautiful lives. Rest in Peace. #endsars #endpolicebrutality #buharimustresign #endsarsbrutality #lekkimassacre #lekkitollgate #nigeriaisbleeding by @iyunadee
