When I say I’ve been to more churches this year than I’ve been in my entire life I am not even kidding. So this is a special one as I used to go to it over 15 years ago. It was always known as Mt. Carmel, a very well attended Polish Church in Wyandotte but with decreasing Polish population in the area and very necessary consolidation it has changed its name. Now it is known as Our Lady of Scapular. Still the same beautiful building with gorgeous details. If you’re feeling adventurous one of these Sundays I highly recommend visiting it to admire the interior.

Going with my Polish Churches in Detroit theme, here is St. Hyacinths East wall where the alter is located. A lot of wonderful details. Mostly visible differences between the interiors of the churches are in the color combinations used as they are all very unique. However, if blue appears it usually it is symbolizing sky and used on the ceilings. 🎨

Today, I’ve attended Banana festival so naturally I had to walk around the interior of St. Hyacinth since I’ve actually never been inside. Just like all of the old Polish churches in Detroit, this one is equally lovely. Most recognized for its ceiling design of multiple murals done in circular shapes. If you haven’t been to St. Hyacinth yet, I highly recommend it.

The bigness of Sweetest Heart Of Mary interior is absolutely stunning. This more earthy color palette and lit up details do give it incredible strength. When you walk in there for the first time, you might have your breath taken away from you for a split of second.

Another standout Polish church in Detroit is Sweetest Heart of Mary, where you can easily lose yourself gazing up at the magnificent, larger-than-life stained glass windows. If you have not stepped inside yet, it is well worth the visit to marvel at the breathtaking craftsmanship and intricate architectural details throughout entire church.

I’ve taken a little break from landscapes (mostly because I’ve been so busy that I don’t have weekends to myself) but on a brighter side of things I got to appreciate some local gems that I never knew they were so close to me. Here is St. Albertus - first Polish church built in Metro Detroit. It is actually nowadays considered a Polish Historical Site which makes it incredibly cool as they can have wedding ceremonies of all the denominations, concerts and other events. They also offer tours so if you want to see this gem in person I highly recommend it! #detroitarchitecture #stalbertusdetroit #historicalsite #detroit #polishchurch taken in St. Albertus Roman Catholic Church by @izabelaps

Fall colors here were slowly sneaking in. Looking today at almost all leaves being gone and snow falling I wish I would’ve gotten out more this fall. ☹️ #michigander #fallseason #michiganweather #michiganfall #landscapecapture #landscapelover #nikongirl #sunrise #fallcolors #michigan #puremichigan #puremittenpride #nikongirl taken in Oakland County by @izabelaps
