Asian Champs 🥇 and LA28 locked in for Australia. Honoured and grateful for the opportunity to stand next to @marknicolaidis and Max in the discomfort of the Olympic qualification pressure cooker. This one means a lot to the team.

To stand on top of the podium alongside Stefie and T, and Ben and Tom is a special moment for Beach Volleyball in Australia. With a stockpile of unbelievable athletes at home in Oz - a Golden era of Aussie Beach Volleyball is coming. Time to keep raising the bar.

A huge thank you to Lachie, Jacqui and all the Aus coaches and support staff on the ground in China and at home. A huge amount of support went into this bid and we’re grateful for it all. @ausvolley taken in Shangluo by @izaccarracher

LA 2028 secured. Asian champions 🇦🇺🏐

Mark Nicolaidis and Izac Carracher have been crowned 2026 AVC Beach Volleyball Asian Champions after defeating fellow Australians Thomas Hodges and Ben Hood in an incredible all-Australian final in Shangluo, China.

With both Australian teams reaching the gold medal match, Australia had already secured its men’s beach volleyball quota spot for LA 2028 before the final was played 🙌

A hard-fought three-set battle saw Mark and Izac hold off Thomas and Ben 2-1 (21-17, 17-21, 15-12) to claim their first continental title. Australia also secured its third consecutive and eighth overall men’s continental title.

What a tournament for the Aussies. What a result for these four. 👏
