I can’t believe how quickly things can change in a blink of an eye. This is not how I pictured my junior year going at all. Tearing my ACL so early into the season has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to process. Accepting that I’ll have to watch the rest of the season from the sidelines, unable to play, has been so hard for me. Soccer has been the forefront of my life for 18 years, so it being taken from me is so weird.

But I’m slowly starting to learn that just because my role looks different this season doesn’t mean I’m no longer a part of this team, and although I won’t be on the field, I am going to work hard to show up, support my team, and lead in whatever way I can. Times are difficult right now, but I’m choosing to make the most of the role that’s been given to me.

I know I have a lot of hard work ahead of me these next 9 months, and I’m ready to push myself. I’m going to put in the work and give everything I have to get back as soon as possible, stronger than I was before.

For now, I’ll be cheering my team on from the sidelines and working toward the day I get to step back on the field.

See you next year❤️‍🩹 by @izrid81
