With us getting to the end of June, I keep thinking about the reason I’ve done this series the past 6 years. Each year I understand more and more how meaningful it is to remain open in a world that continuously forces queer people to make themselves smaller.

This series, became a meditation on that exact thought. The raw and naked vulnerability and strength of existing as a queer person in today’s world; The desire to be seen, and the fear that can come with visibility.

This series is our presence, it will always be about showing you all the beauty in the LGBTQIA+ community. We must always honor ourselves and each other in ways the world most often just downright refuses to, and continue creating a safe space where people can exist fully, safely, and without apology.

As Pride Month comes to a close, I keep returning to one truth: pride does not end when June does. The need for community, protection, acceptance, and love does not disappear when the celebrations are over and the calendars turns to July. I choose to let love win.

We are still here.
And we always will be.

and just like that… GET GAPED has concluded their 6 month run at White Horse Bar 🥹🥹

As a baby house, we are eternally grateful to the @whitehorsebar in giving us this incredible opportunity to produce a show of our own. 🤍We’ve grown and learned so much in just these 6 months as performers, as a family, but also as producers! 🫂🫂

We want to say thank you to all of the people who came to our shows and showered us with love, and those who helped us running the show and guided us on how to produce a show! Thank you Sean, Patti, Angel, Phoebe, Holly, Heiress, Beef, Translucent, Bernadette, Flynn, Gabe and Noah for all of your assistance ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 And shout out @yungantie for being our resident DJ for the whole run 🙌🏽🙌🏽 & of course our sister @goblincore for being the most stylish tip kitten ever 😸

Even though GET GAPED’s first run is over, this is just the beginning for the HOUSE OF GAPE. We are ready and open to what needs GAPING next 💢💢 Let’s connect y’all ‼️‼️
