SUNDARA '26 Part 002 Cover: Views from the hilltop campsite. Pretty nice if you ask me 😏🤭😮‍💨. So many activities like wow. Wish I got to do all but I actually did a good bit of them. People did not want to leave the Kandi Korner beads table @kizthrives like dang. Side note I miss just dumping a whole album on Facebook and people being able to comment on each one. Like here has to be so curated it's so draining to have to choose between shots, like I do that for a living already. SUNDARA '26 Part 003 Day into night into Day Yooo like we ate so good from the fits to the feast. I had like 3 outfit changes this day. Had to stay fresh af shout-out blue soap #tentlife fr fr I don't have a lot of stills of the live performances, mostly video (and then for all of freetown's performances I end up operating cam for the media team high as a kite too 💀). Trust that isasha shell dong and bun out de place like you wouldn't believe. His ululation NEVER gets old like wow, I hear a woman say he gyal well happy, but I say what if he strictly ital... Anyways I saw so many friends for the main night. Not everyone got a pic but everyone got a hug and a lil dance up. These posts are just a small window into the vibe of the weekend (and I guess into my life in general) but you really had to be there to understand what it was. I wish the venue was in la Vega again so I could wander around more *wink wink* lol but I get why Pueblo. If you read to here stay fly, stay high and keep reading books you little nerdy bookworm you. You like words huh. Big words small words all words. Word soup. Slurping up dem wordssss. Okay my thumbs hurt by @izzy_ramen

Tat-two Saw this gorgeous one of one flash at @the.kimkong.studio popup at @sundarafestivaltt and in the spirit of spontaneity and preserving the memory of the 1st Sundara I say I have to have it. It's a fig tree, aka a Banana Plant if you using govament names. In my backyard it always have fig trees and I grew up looking at them out my bedroom window. Also this one have a lil new shoot popping up and a lil grop of figs bearing and I feel like that signifies new growth and being fruitful (I rel good at justifying tings eh haha). It is fascinating how Kim's art developed independently of my input can have so much significance and meaning to me. There's definitely deeper themes to explore here between art, the artist and the audience. Anyways, that single needle sting like a mofo but badman nuh flinch. I'm really happy about this one. by @izzy_ramen

Towards the end of April I went to Backchat, an event put on by an org called @caisott , that's become a sorta tradition now for me and my lil band of strangefits I call friends. This one made me think about Culture (yes, with a capital c). About how it perseveres and flows out from nucleation points like these. This event was a proper calalloo variety show, featuring words spoken and sung, and music and dance. A lot of times Events For Marginalized Communities or EFMCs ™️ as I like to call them can read like a crying out for help, or be full of admonishments (which are honestly like preaching to the choir tbh), and just sitting in collective sorrow. But Backchat felt like, nay, was a celebration. It was artists flaunting bare talent and mastery of craft. It was a few beers with really good friends and marvelling at some cool wordplay and blushing from a naughty wink from a performer. It was sharing a small portion of wings like 5 ways before you even get to eat one. It was fun. Special mention to Earth who I mostly only see on this side when dey performing. Always makes my month. Dais why they get to be the cover 😊 Anyways if you made it to the end of this ramble on tings, 🤌🏾 (that's as close to a meggie as we can get rn, need to petition for a proper one from the Emoji ppl) taken in Kaiso Blues Cafe by @izzy_ramen

For 34, I want to BE MORE. Got my first tattoo! Honestly on a whim while shooting at Indie Valley, I saw a dancing BMO on the tattoo popup flash sheet and thought, heck yeah! Mid Life Cry Sis ACTIVATE LOLLL I felt like I needed a reminder to trust myself and dance and have fun no matter how grim the circumstances get. She shows up for her friends a lot too and is so multifaceted. by @izzy_ramen

34 This past year of my life was full of so many twists and turns. I had to take the good with the bad. Experience all the pain and still hold on to love in my heart. Some relationships deepened while others came to an end. My career in film and advertising feels like it's flourishing. I've dived into my art, painting, making music. There's so many lessons I learned. The main one tho, was that I need to take better care of me. The same care I give unreservedly to others, I needed to give to myself. And I'm learning more and more each day to be better at the things. Letting go of old versions of myself that others thrust upon me etc. I'm really grateful for all the love I receive. My loved ones hold me up. This next chapter is gonna be awesome. by @izzy_ramen
