Scout, scootie pie, scooter,
boy do we love you.

When mom decided to get you, people were thinking what on the world are they doing getting a mountain dog in the middle of Burlington, North Carolina. Well I still don’t know. But, it was the best decision we ever made. Yes, you ate all my socks, my homework, my passport, my chick fil a, bottles of Advil, cigarette butts, shoe strings, and really anything else you can think of. Somehow, It was all worth it. I’ll never forget the way you could so easily turn my mood around. You cuddled me at night, made me feel warm inside, and showed me joy during hard times (navigating my teens). You loved everyone, seriously everyone. No one is a stranger to you. You live for others. I hope to be more like you.

Im wishing you get unlimited rides in the Mercedes, all the piggies, and as much strawberries a girl could want.

I never thought I’d say this but you have no idea how much I’ll miss having a scootie hair in my dinner. It just felt right that way. Thank you for bringing my family more happiness than we ever had. You have taught us lessons we didn’t know we needed. Watching you become a momma is something I’ll never forget. You loved your babies but weren’t afraid to let them fail. You knew that was part of the process.

Tell dusty we said hey up there. I know he missed you. Me, Cole, Mom, Dad and Harley, love you so much.

See you one day scout,

She embodies so much of what makes this country special. Pride in where you come from, freedom to dream big, and the importance of bringing people together. Thank you for guiding me through every phase of life. She’ll forever be one of my biggest inspirations, I love you Dolly 🦋🤍 by @izzybcollective
