Weathered

A deep reflection on how the storms of our own life have cultivated the reality of our intersubjectivity.
i’m so thankful to my amazing cast for bringing this work to life through collaboration and exploration. I’m in awe of you all and want the whole world to be too.

Now you can watch my senior capstone in its entirety, i hope you enjoy, and see a part of yourself within this work :)

IZZY KISSINGER is a Texas-based dancer, educator, and emerging artist whose work is grounded in versatility, narrative depth, and embodied authenticity. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a minor in Entrepreneurship at Sam Houston State University, where she has performed in a variety of departmental productions while also expanding her understanding of stage management and technical production elements. Her movement foundation spans ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, contemporary, partnering, and tap, shaped by mentorship from Francisco Graciano, Travis Lake, Andy Noble, Dionne-Sparkman Noble, Adele Nickel, Tyler Orcutt, Jennifer Pontius, Jacob Regan, and Andrew Smith. Beyond her university training, Izzy has further cultivated her artistry through immersive training with Dance Italia, Houston Ballet Academy, American Ballet Theatre, and artists including Nichole Von Arx, Sean Carmon, Dual Rivet, and Lindsay Ruth. Izzy performed internationally at the Real Collegio in Lucca, Italy, and has gotten the opportunity to perform The Gap Between by Hannah Mettler and Landfall by Dionne-Sparkman Noble at the American College Dance Association in 2026. Her works delve into psychological experiences depicted through rhythmic patterns of various styles. Pieces like Intermundium and The Shiver have been presented at Sam Houston State University as well as a solo titled Fix It To Break It at the Collage Dance Festival. Her most recent creative endeavour includes her Senior capstone Weathered which explores resistance and transformation through themes of internal cleansing, relational shifts, and surrender to the external forces.
