to the sport that gave me it all and so much more: i knew since the day i picked up that yellow ball this would be the greatest heart break i would ever experience. saying goodbye to the sport i've done since i can remember walking will never be an easy thing to do but i can walk away and say that i gave it my all. every day good or bad i knew the one constant in my life would always be softball. the friendships made on the field are like no other you will ever have, through injury, errors, losses, fights, and bad games i always knew my team would be there.

Cassi and Wes, you became not only my coaches but two of the people i will forever look up too. when i met you guys i thought i would never love this sport again and you believed in me like no other and pushed me to my fullest potential. you are the reason i can end this chapter in my life with so much gratitude. without you i would have never made it too 18u and see this sport the way i do now. everyone has a coach that impacts their life for the better, lucky for me i had two.

Dad, my #1 supporter and my biggest role model the person that showed up every. single. time. no matter the time, no matter the day, you were there. i can't remember a time where you weren't at the ballpark cheering me on. every time i felt like enough was enough and it was time to hang up my cleats you were there to talk me out of it, every good and every bad moment was shared with you. the car rides home after a bad game. the hours spent in the basement loading the tee while i tried every drill to get out of my slump. most importantly of all the celebrations and words of encouragement you were always there to give me no matter if things went the way i wanted or not. thank you for dedicating it all to making this sport one of the greatest times of my life.

this sport has truly shown me so much more than just how to swing my bat, or frame a pitch. it's shown me resilience, hard work, patience, and commitment. you saved me in ways i could have never imagined. it was always so much more than a sport. thank you softball. by @izzymosk
