Saturday in Nailsworth ☀️🪑🚲People gathered around the clock tower, soaking up the chilly but bright spring sunshine.Cold air, warm light, and that easy rhythm of a Saturday where no one’s in too much of a rush.Nailsworth is such a lovely town…full of wonderful shops, good energy… and super sensible free parking 🙌🏻⭐️🙌🏻There’s always a nice feel here. Kite flyers + Sunshine 🪁🌞🕶️One of my illustrations from Easter. People out on the common, flying kites, soaking up that spring sunshine.Happy faces, fresh air, and that simple kind of joy you only find when you’ve made it up the hill… and then spot the kite-flying crew in action🥰👀🌤️I do wonder though…is there a WhatsApp group involved here🤔“Wind looking good. Meet Myla! The new owner of @borderless_books on London Road in Stroud. I only meant to have a quick nose around, but obviously I ended up drawing the moment instead😊🎨👩‍🎨Borderless Books is packed with cool, thoughtful, quirky and beautiful reads.I guess that’s the joy of being an independent bookshop… you get to choose what you love. Living with a 16 year old 👽🧟‍♂️🥺GCSEs incoming… no clear life plan… and emotional volume levels set somewhere between silent retreat and full surround sound.Our Easter break has been lovely. And there were even some brief moments where our family almost resembled functioning humans again👀🤣😵‍💫Currently reminding myself that this too shall pass🧘🙏🏻☕️We’ve done it twice before so can definitely do it again!🫶🏻💪🏻🫶🏻And throughout the storms, we continue to run a highly reliable cooking and taxi service🤣 🚕🍝And apparently… reliability is what humans need (or so we’re told!)They are loved endlessly. Just your average Saturday in Stroud…whilst paying for the car park, we spot a fellow human casually holding three exotic parrots and a jackdaw.🦜✨🐦‍⬛As you do…🦜😂🙌🏻Perhaps they were heading down the high street for some kind of educational bird talk or maybe this fabulous five were just fancied some fresh air!?! Spotted! 🕵️☕️🚐This little mobile coffee van has been popping up all over Stroud lately and last weekend it rolled into Nailsworth.Shadow and Steam…serving amazing coffee, super friendly service, all from the hatch of a very cool van.🥰🚚☕️So of course… I had to draw it😉Observational drawing from life.
