I went into this trip thinking I knew what to expect. I knew I was going to serve, to help, and to hopefully make a difference in the communities we visited. What I didn’t expect was to leave feeling like I had received so much more than I gave.

I was exposed to realities so different from my own - families without reliable transportation to healthcare, people having to weigh essential medical care against everyday expenses, and circumstances that made me stop and reconsider so many things I’ve always taken for granted. Yet, despite the challenges they face, I was continually met with so much joy, love, and gratitude.

But more than anything, I left humbled. Humbled by the people who welcomed us, by the families who trusted us, and by the beauty and warmth of Honduras. I gained a deeper appreciation for my own life, a new perspective that I know I’ll carry with me, friendships I never expected, and memories that will stay with me for a lifetime.

We served 5 communities across Siguatepeque and saw 894 patients through OneWorld Health. I’m incredibly grateful that I got to play a small part in it.

Thank you to every person who made this experience possible - the people we met, the communities who welcomed us, the new friends who made this week so special, and OneWorld Health for giving me the opportunity to experience something I’ll never forget.
