September 23rd is a day I will never forget. Now it wasn’t the day he passed, but the last day we spent together. He took me to my eye appointment because he knew I hated going to appointments alone, took me to get gas, and took me to get breakfast. Part of me wishes I would’ve taken in that last day a little more than I did, but the other half is so blessed I got to spend that last day with him. That next day was a shock to the whole world, he was healthy, he was in shape, he was supposed to do what he loved doing that day, flying.

My heart aches knowing he’s gone. He was truly one of a kind — a leader, a mentor, and a friend to everyone who crossed his path. He lived with such strength and purpose, whether it was through his time serving, or through the ways his cared for your family. He showed me what it means to be selfless, dependable, and full of love.

Some of my favorite memories will always be seeing him sitting in the stands at my cheer competitions, and football games cheering me on no matter what — even when he was there all by himself. He never missed a chance to show his support, and that meant the world to me. He made me feel seen, loved, and proud to be his granddaughter.

Thank you for every lesson, every laugh, and every moment of encouragement. You’ll always be my biggest supporter, my hero, and my Pops. I hope you know how loved and appreciated you were — and still are. I’ll carry your strength and your spirit with me forever. 🤍 by @izzyrauu

JESUS TRULY IS THE GREATEST! ⭐️🫰🏼🎉🏐🌈🥰🤟🏼
My first Falls Creek was such an amazing experience! and I’m so thankful for the memories I made this week. My favorite part was meeting new people while also growing closer to the friends I already had. I love the reminder that you can’t grow with Jesus alone, we’re meant to encourage and support each other in our faith. Some of my favorite moments were just sitting with people during meals, going to the rec fields, walks after night Tab, talking, laughing, and making memories I’ll always remember. I’m leaving Falls Creek with new friendships, a stronger community, and a desire to keep growing in my faith alongside others. 🫰🏼🥰 by @izzyrauu
