I’m probably gonna regret putting my face on the Internet looking like this… But I think honesty is super important and people are always commenting on how I have the confidence to look the way that I do… I definitely don’t wake up like this… It’s a choice! I shaved my head last November to tattoo it so I’m regrowing my hair currently, as well as dealing with greasy AF perimenopause scalp… And TBH wigs have been such a life-changing hack that I may never go back. Another absolutely game-changing discovery was temporary eyebrow tattoos. There are so many different styles and shades, and if you have only seven eyebrow hairs like me because you over plucked them in the 90s… Definitely shave those seven stragglers off and get yourself some temporary eyebrow tattoos! Always remember that the hottest babes are reading labels to ensure that their makeup and skin care does not contain animal body parts or fluids, and definitely to ensure the products are not tested on animals… Last hot tip of the day is WEAR A HAT! Hats instantly give you a boost of confidence and they protect your energy… I firmly believe the world would be a better place if everyone wore more hats!! by @j.bearcat

If you woke feeling like your best years are behind you and that you’re supposed to just curl up and shut up.. this message is for YOU! Listen babe, we’re sold a whole load of bullsh!t about how we should dress and how we should look when we hit midlife… I’m here to tell you to throw that garbage out the window right now and go to your closet. Put together an outfit that genuinely sparks joy, not something “age appropriate”…
And if you do a lot of thrifting like I do, and sometimes buy stuff that doesn’t quite fit, but love the overall vibe, don’t worry, I got you. That’s what safety pins and superglue are for! 😆 last tip, and I cannot stress this enough… but if you’re dealing with thinning or greasy hair, grab yourself a fun wig and a big funky hat! I promise you it’ll make you feel so much better and give you 10x confidence!
So get off your ass, girl and let’s BE the magnificent midlife representation that we wish we had, and we can change this freaking narrative!! by @j.bearcat

One of my favourite body parts to get tattooed to date was my head. Painful as absolute F*€K, but totally worth it! My self-esteem took such a hit when my perimenopausal greasy straggly hair started to fall out. I felt super insecure and like I was no longer attractive. I wanted to reclaim my confidence and redefine myself in this changing body on my terms. 🥵 I shaved my head, tattooed it, and now wear fun wigs in my favourite colour, which is obviously teal. (((Can’t recommend this enough!)))
I also completely changed up my style, and this account is sort of a working diary of me figuring out these changes in real time.
I want you all to know that if you feel like you are alone, you are detinitely not! There are so many women sharing their stories with me. It is making me realize that hair loss in our 40s and 50s is completely normal, but it is so stigmatized and women feel shameful, when it is a normal part of our hormone changes and there is nothing at all to be ashamed of! I am here to try in my small way to destigmatize taking back your confidence through trying out new things that bring you joy, and doing them on your own terms!
It my journey resonates with you, drop a comment below or send me a DM. I love hearing your stories and connecting with this fast growing little community of baddie babes 🫶 by @j.bearcat

My tight pants era is long over! And although I only wear comfy pants and a lot of T-shirts… the goal is never to look basic! Here’s how I styled some plisse pants, which are the most comfortable things on earth! With a T-shirt that my dear friend, Katy made, which I cut and laced into a T-shirt corset, styled over a sheer mesh long sleeve, added a neon toque and a chunky silver necklace. Wearing it with platform boots and a Thrifted aqua purse for a pop-up color! The full tutorial on how to make the T-shirt corset is coming soon! If you don’t already follow my page do so now so you don’t miss it and many more DIY / styling tips to look fab AF in your 40s and beyond, while never compromising comfort 🧸 by @j.bearcat

Keep it simple… Something I don’t think I’ve ever said 😅 More is definitely more! And especially now that I’m over 40 and society continually sends messaging that women in midlife are supposed to be quiet and shrink down because they’re value is “diminished”… I wear what I want and encourage other women to do the same! We need to be loud and we need to be the representation that we wish we had! Let’s show younger generations that ageing is not scary! In fact, it’s something to look forward to and be excited about 🎉 by @j.bearcat

Remember how we used to wear four layers of tank tops in the 2000s?? I’m not entirely sure why everyone else did that.. But for me it was very much to hide a bloated midsection due to teenage Hormone fluctuation… Well, now 25 years later, the hormonal midsection bloat is back, baby! 🥵
I’m always looking to bring elements of 90s fashion or the Y2K glory days into my outfits… so I’ve been thinking, how do we re-create that vibe, but in a more modern way? Here’s what I came up with… Let me know what you think. Did I nail it? Or do we keep trying? by @j.bearcat

Always faux fur, faux leather and supporting thrifted, small business or women owned as often as possible! 🩵 And as you can see, I repeat items frequently, just find new ways to mix them up! by @j.bearcat

Life hack: wear hats and drink Alani Nu’s. I’m not even kidding when I say I drink one daily. I also only buy the flavours that come in teal cans because I’m obsessed with the can matching my outfit and I pretty much wear teal daily.
I haven’t eaten meat in over 30 years and people always ask me where I get my b12. FROM THE FREAKING ALANI 🙌 She’s got 120% the daily recommended amount of b12 babyyyyy, I’m good 😎 but fr don’t take nutrition advice from this post. I’m just a midlife babe with brain fog trying to survive perimenopause. At least my drink matches my hair though 🩵 by @j.bearcat

When I hit perimenopause, my hair started falling out and what had left was greasy AF. So I shaved it, and tattooed my head. Now I wear bad ass colourful wigs and fun hats and live life MY way. Hormones aren’t gonna hold me down! So if you feel like midlife has got you down, my page is for you babes! Let’s become the hottest versions of ourselves we’ve ever been 🫶 by @j.bearcat

Winter is fast approaching (we got out first snow of the season yesterday 😩) and that means cozy layers and clothes that keeps us warm! But staying warm doesn’t mean style or ethics need to go out the window. There are many synthetic blends as shown in the slides, and if you’re boujie, check out the incredible new line by @stellamccartney made of Brewed Protein, a fermented alternative to cashmere and wool developed in collaboration with the Japanese firm Spiber. by @j.bearcat

Never skip the Halloween costume section at Value Village!! I have gotten so many statement pieces over the years that are true-vintage but because they’re in the Halloween section they’re marked so cheaply! I’ve gotten hand beaded dresses from the 1930s for five bucks, vintage hats for four dollars, a 1950s Bolero for six dollars, a swing skirt that was handmade and just an absolute statement piece for five bucks… The list goes on and on! All of these pieces are super unique and get so many comments whenever I wear them. This is my latest score from this year… A squished to heck 1950s hat with frying floral components, that look like feathers.
Don’t walk… Run to your nearest value Village and hit up that costume section babes! by @j.bearcat
