No excuses just work.

Came into the CMTO Tournament finals on a 3-fight win streak, back-to-back TKOs, and a point to prove. Across from me? A seasoned fighter out of Quebec with real experience.

But this wasn’t about that.
It was about heart. Discipline. Showing up when it’s inconvenient.

Short camp. Long odds. Same outcome.

Sometimes you don’t need perfect preparation… just an unbreakable mindset.

First session, no expectations just work.

Big respect to this crew for pulling up today. This all came together through @itsxxmellerie from Reverb one of the top dancers coming out of one of Toronto’s most respected crews. Reverb’s been building a name for years with high-level choreography, performances, and pushing dancers to the next level across the city and beyond (REVERB CREW).

Nobody really knew what they were walking into but the ones who showed up? They earned it. Two hours straight of work, pressure, growth, and getting out of their comfort zone.

Yeah, a few were missing but the ones in the room set the tone. Showing up is the first win, and today, they took that.

Proud of this group. Solid energy, real effort. It was a pleasure meeting you all best of luck as you keep growing and chasing this.

Full circle. 🌀

From being the kid trying to tie his own skates for the first time in the locker room, listening, learning, and chasing a dream… to now being the coach on the bench, guiding the next generation.

I grew up in hockey—grinding from a young age, bouncing between teams, programs, and coaches. My dad took me everywhere chasing improvement, and I’m forever grateful for that. But the biggest growth I ever experienced came during my time training at Hyperfit with Coach Ben Davis and an incredible group of mentors who poured knowledge into me that went far beyond the game.

At one point, I fell out of love with hockey. Life, pressure, and different situations pulled me away from it. But the lessons I learned in those years - discipline, resilience, work ethic—never left. I carried them into fitness, into Muay Thai, into everything I do today.

This week, stepping back into that same environment this time as a coach with Hurricane Athletics—was something special. Coaching the kids, helping tie skates, talking at lunch, pushing them in training… it was like reliving those moments from the other side.

And honestly, it brought something back.

A real appreciation for the game, for the grind, and for the team and camaraderie that is displayed.

These young athletes are different. Hungry. Focused. Willing to work. The future of the sport is in good hands.

Nothing will be the same.

Grateful for where it all started.
Grateful for where it’s going.
Grateful for Hyperfit.
