Yesterday was the last day of walks around the wonderful Wales, morning on my own Bethesda to Tryfan, Porth Dafarch in the evening with @iwona.gabrys.1 who seems to know the most amazing spots and rock formations here. I will be sad to leave but needs must. I have a massive collection of pictures with lichen markings that late Yayoi Kusama would be proud off so watch this space🙂 taken in Porth Dafarch by @j.hanlon1

Just wonderful - 926m elevation gain, somewhere between 10-15 km of circular walk along Cadair Idris. Stunning views in the way up, then cloud, but it was just fab. Thank you bestie @iwona.gabrys.1 taken in Cadair Idris by @j.hanlon1

✨ Omamori Making Workshop ✨

A little look back at Omamori (Japanese lucky charm) making workshop 🧵🇯🇵 @threading_stories_collective

It was lovely seeing everyone create their own special charms, choosing colours, fabrics and decorations and adding their own personal wishes. 💕✨

Omamori are traditionally carried for protection, good luck, health, happiness and other personal wishes.

I would like to invite you to take part in the Fragile Constructs research project and exhibition.

The project researches how our identities are shaped not just by our own individual personalities, but also the expectations of others and our life experiences (for example migration).

I am inviting women with experience of migration to join her in three creative workshops to share their stories and translate them into textile works. These will be shown in an exhibition at Strange Fields, Glasgow in December. You must be aged 18+ and speak English. Help with travel expenses is available.

Workshops will run from the Workshop Room, Kelvin Hall, 1445 Argyle St, Glasgow G3 8AW for three weeks every Friday, starting from the 11th September (11, 18 and 25 September), 10am to 1pm.

One of these rare moments in my life when I have a chance to wonder and admire. A fruitful trip to Dundee’ @dcadundee @generatorprojects and @the_mill_dundee and some wonderful exhibitions and talks with people that now what it takes to be an artist. Amazing works by Francis Dosoo, Adrian Balseca, @susie_johnston, Mary Modeen, @miriammallalieu @victor_november (Valerie Norris) @hartofkatie @louiseritchiegram @bruceshaw137 Andy Milligan, @astridleeson, @paolamcclurex , wonderful @leenanammari and at the Generator Projects a recent DJCAD graduate Thea Moston.
