STATE CHAMPS!

What a journey this has been. After three years of chasing this goal, it finally came true—and it couldn’t have happened in a more powerful way. Tied 3-3, everything came down to my match. With my hand injured, feeling exhausted, but my heart full of faith, I gave it everything I had.

I’m incredibly thankful to God, who put this amazing moment in my life—my strength and guide through every obstacle. Without Him, none of this would’ve been possible.

Huge thanks to my family, who have stood by me through every match, injury, and tough moment, and to my coaches and teammates who never stopped believing and fighting alongside me.

This title it’s ours, we all worked so hard and left everything on the court.

Let’s go lions🦁💪🏻 by @j.orta09

For God, nothing is impossible.

First and foremost, all the glory belongs to God. He is the One who has guided me through every step of this process and gave me the victory from the very beginning.

“Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.” — Revelation 5:5

Over the last few months, I have been fighting osteosarcoma. Surgery was a major step, but everything went perfectly, the mass was 100% removed and I am now focused on giving my very best throughout my recovery and the next rounds of chemotherapy I have left. I miss being on the court and playing the sport I love most, but I will continue fighting every day with faith, strength, and determination until I am able to return and play at my level again.

To Dr. Durfee, Dr. Hoffman, Dr. Wilbur, Dr. Henderson, the Rothman Orthopaedics team, and the AdventHealth team: thank you for your exceptional work during my surgery and for the incredible care and compassion you have shown me during this time. God placed the best team in my path, and I will always be grateful.

To my family, thank you so much for all your love, support and care that you’ve given been through this process. For always being there for me, I couldn’t ask for a better team to be with me. I love you!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, and, most importantly, prayed for me. God hears our hearts.

God has a plan. — Jeremiah 29:11 taken in AdventHealth Orlando by @j.orta09

There are no words to to describe how great this past 4 years have been. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions throughout the years and many memories that I will carry on for the rest of my life. First of all I want to thank God for allowing me to be part of this family. I want to thank Coach Beard for believing in me and give me the opportunity to lead Lake Nona to the highest point. Coach Mick, Coach Jason and Coach Spitler for always supporting me and being mentors in this journey. Lastly my teammates for pushing me to be a better player and a better person. It’s been an honor to be able to wear white and navy. Once a lion always a lion!🦁 by @j.orta09
