God’s timing is perfect 🫶🏾 @j.theodile by @j.theodile

Psalm 23 hits different when you learn how sheep actually behave. 👀

“Sheep” don’t survive well on their own:
• they tend to react to noises or stay close to what familiar
• they panic under pressure
• they get lost fast without guidance
• they don’t always recognize danger until it’s too late

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (v.1)

FYI:
A sheep will refuse to drink from moving water — even if it’s dying of thirst.
Too much motion = fear = no life.
That’s why “still waters” isn’t poetic… it’s survival. 🕊️

“He makes me to lie down in green pastures…” (v.2)

FYI:
Sheep don’t lie down just because food is present.
They only rest when they feel fully safe — no stress, no threat, no tension around them.

“He restores my soul…” (v.3)

And the valley part hits different:

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death…” (v.4)

Sheep don’t avoid valleys — shepherds lead them THROUGH it…
because that’s often the path to better ground.

“Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” (v.4)

Protection and correction are both part of being led.
Psalm 23 - New King James verison
Read it again. Not as poetry… but as pattern. 📖
