I’ve caught Kings and Kokanee off a boat but never flossed a salmon from shore because they closed salmon right after I moved up here. Kings are strong, I’ve had quite a few get off this early season so far and saw a lot of guys lose fish as well. So it was very important to get this one on shore and get on the board this season(even though it wasn’t huge). I’m happy to have everyone see my emotions and adrenaline running in this video. You can hear it in my breathing, in my voice but at the same time I was just trying to be patient in the moment. That vulnerability in those moments and instant spikes in adrenaline is what makes this sport so addictive. In that specific time and space every move matters. Everyone that hooks up knows that while that fish is on, nothing else matters. Pure bliss! Nothing in the world like it!
