Happy Halloween from your favorite fairies 🧚🏼‍♀️ ✨ by @j__jennings

For anyone that doesn’t yet know, I’ve recently done a career pivot and no longer work at the library….but that’s okay because now I am a Library Worker Without Borders! This means that I will still do the Good Work our community needs, just outside of the library itself. 📚

But today I was briefly welcomed back to Library World at the OLC Convention! I caught up with a few colleagues whose guidance I cherish, and I met many new people too. My main task while there, though, was presenting about my original work, a program called Political Education: The Program Where Politics Become Practical. I am so, so beyond grateful to have had this opportunity to present this to a room full of amazing library workers. 🥰

If you’re missing Political Education, never fear, because it will be back in January as an independently run community event! Keep an eye out for more updates about this. 🙂‍↕️

On a more humorous note, this convention was held at Kalahari, and for anyone not from Ohio or who has never been to Kalahari, this image and the song I put on this post truly encapsulates the vibe of the place…

Which is why I had to have a photo shoot with these GIGANTIC wildlife statues! 😂

But anywayy I also got a book signed by Mindy McGinnis—an author I’ve loved and looked up to since middle school!! 🥰

Thank you again to Library World for welcoming me back for a day!! 🥰 by @j__jennings

Side note: I found this doodle on Pinterest with no artist credited. If you know who the artist is, let me know so I can tag them and give them credit for their cutesy and moooving work. 🐮

You asked for another one, so we’re bringing it to you: Galion’s second ever No Kings Day is this Saturday, October 17th, from 1-3 PM at the Galion City Square Gazebo (at the intersection of Harding Way and Market Street). 🙂‍↕️

This is a nonviolent and nonpartisan event focused on encouraging people to vote on or before November 3rd. At the rally, you can…
•hear speeches from community members
•give your own speech
•bring or create a sign to hold
•eat some snacks
•make a plan to vote on or before November 3rd (this would be a great chance to organize transportation to get to the polls, if that is needed!)
•and, overall, make your voice heard
All while connecting with like-minded individuals who already live in your area! 🫂

We hope to see you there—message me or other organizers if you have any questions!! 🫶🏼 by @j__jennings

Join some friends and me on Sunday, October 11th at 1PM at the Galion City Square Gazebo to rage, grieve, and unite together in a nonviolent safe space for all survivors and supporters of survivors to share what you’ve been holding that feels too heavy to carry alone.

This event was planned in response to Jane Doe’s story. I can’t change what those men did to her at Cornell. I can’t change that we have a rapist-in-chief president (and that a large portion of my community voted him in). I can’t change that all of us have been impacted by sexual violence. But I can create a space for all of us who are sick of this to come together and imagine what justice might mean when systems have abandoned us.

I hope to see you there—message me with any questions. by @j__jennings

quote about secrets from Orwell’s 1984 👁️‍🗨️

I wrote a long caption about Who Keeps Us Safe that would be valuable to keep in mind in current times to go along with this, but Instagram says it’s too long so I can’t post it here. Should I post it somewhere else instead? If so, where? 🧚🏼‍♀️✨ by @j__jennings

Went to @anticapitalist_youth_camp with @solidarityus1986 🙂‍↕️✨ slept in a tent for a week in the beautiful German countryside, made amazing new friends from all over the world, and learned that since the right is organized internationally, we must be too. by @j__jennings

I had the honor to attend the Labor Notes conference with @solidarityus1986 this past weekend - I’m so grateful for the connections made and for all the new things I learned 🙂‍↕️💕

I graduated college yesterday and can now proudly say I have a B.A. in Political Science, with dual minors in English and Sustainability.

I am very grateful to have had this opportunity, and I couldn’t have done it without the individuals pictured above—my family. I love you all, thank you for the support and love. by @j__jennings
