Steve Cropper @ Jaan’s House (May 2021)

We lost a legend this week. Steve Cropper is easily considered one of the greatest guitarists ever to grace this planet. He played on countless tracks that made people sing and dance across the world, and inspired multiple generations of guitarists & musicians to seek their own tone & style, myself included.

@pastemagazine brought an epic lineup of artists & bands to @jaanshouse during the pandemic — capturing dozens of acts that had new music to share, but couldn’t perform it live during the shutdowns.

Steve was gracious enough to share some of his new songs with an exceptional band, holding down the beat with his signature groove.
Forever grateful to share a moment with this legend player!

How does one curate a grassroots experience with a strong emphasis on community & creativity? We sat down with @flaminjaan to learn more about his event, The Head and The Heart, at @jaanshouse in Nashville, and left feeling nothing short of inspired. ❤️‍🔥

It’s crazy to think about all of the artists that have come through our doors over the years! The stories, the shows, the friendships… it’s an honor to play a small role in helping these artists achieve their dreams and share their passions and musical talent with the world!

We’re here to provide a “home away from home” for musicians touring through Nashville, where they can jam out and be creative in the rehearsal space, relax and feel well-rested for their show

As for benefit shows at the House, we’ve taken a hiatus this year and last (because ya know, life), but expect to see some pop-ups in 2026! We’ve missed them just as much as all of our friends who follow our page 🙏

Who knows who will come through next? Nothing brings us more joy than welcoming strangers who leave as friends!

#TBT to recording @dylanleblanc_official at @jaanshouse during @americanafest for @nodepression / @iknowweshould in 2023! Dylan is a songwriter’s songwriter, one of the few that inspires, captivates and commands a crowd with his storytelling. Grateful to call this man a dear friend.

Congrats to @kebmomusic on his 2024 Grammy nomination for Best American Roots Performance!

When my friend Brad told me Keb’ Mo’ was going to perform in my backyard for a Paste Magazine session back in 2021, I didn’t believe him. THE Keb’ Mo’ — one of the most respected and prolific blues artists / guitarists of the modern era — was coming to @jaanshouse! Keb’ & I talked about music, who inspired us to pick up the guitar & shared stories over a cup of coffee before the session, only to be graced with an epic performance by him and his band. He’s an exceptional songwriter, and one hell of a tasteful guitarist to boot. Genuinely one of the most sincere people I’ve had the joy and honor of meeting.

Here’s a throwback to Keb’ Mo’ performing “The Medicine Man” live at @jaanshouse in 2021.
