oming from an agricultural production community, I have been intrigued by these high mountain meadows in the alps that appear to be mowed. I have enjoyed watching how they do this. For some, they use these unique small machines to cut and rake the grass. Others “hand cut” it with scythes (note woman carrying scythe and rake and man carrying bag of cut grass. They store the grass in these high mountain sheds on “stilts” to protect grass and grain from mice. Fascinating! by @jaba7962

Made it to Italy! Our driver took us from Tasch, Switzerland to Bellagio, Italy (Lake Como) via Simplon Pass (road commissioned by Napoleon). Incredible views of high mountain passes, Swiss Brown (Braunvieh) cows, and glacial waterfalls. Stopped near Varese at the Sacro Monte di Varese, an incredible area that has 14 chapels, built in 1604. Arrived at our beautiful cottage in Bellagio. I have to keep pinching myself to realize it’s not a dream. by @jaba7962
