EC Extravaganza Weekend was a rousing success! I’ve been planning these two conversions for a while, and thanks to the recent @dynacap.io restock they’re now a reality. I’m extremely pleased with how these came out, and am looking forward to doing more in the future ☺️

Way to glow! Finally got my grubby mitts on another @jacky__kbd board, this time in polycarbonate. The Hippo TKL is a bit smaller than its namesake, but not by much.

Once I saw the underglow RGB turn on, I knew I had to pair it with @philippwade & @gmk_keycaps Windbreaker 🌈

Recently had the chance to check out the forthcoming Schema from @bowlkeyboards and @alexotos, and it’s quite lovely! The mint ano is stunning, and the acrylic top adds a nice visual buffer that allows pairing with lots of different keycap sets. Once I tried GMK Botanical though, I knew the kind of pics I needed to take.

As far as switches and sound goes, my favorite build I got to try were @divinikeys HMX Saru v2s on polypropylene.

Radar picked up something unnaturally fast over western Michigan. Thankfully I was able to snap a pic as it passed through my office.

It’s DCS UFO from @basilkeycaps and @spkeyboards! Love the novelties especially, but also how extensible the kits are: enough to cover multiple keyboards!

This build was such a special treat. I’d already been planning on doing a @dynacap.io EC conversion on a @novel.keys Classic TKL — but when DCS Panels was released on @the.keymachine, the whole thing came into focus!

I’ve never built an EC board before, but @omnitype’s build guide, custom @hype.keyboards brass plate, and @hectorvs blog articles made the whole thing a breeze.

If you wanna see this gem up close, I’m planning on bringing it to @keycon.info 🤗 by @jabronus

Lock s-foils in attack position!

This is the build I had in mind when the Manta from @bowlkeyboards and @alexotos first came on the scene. Clear-coated alu top frame with a raw copper weight. The weight will patina with time, adding character and battle damage to this starcraft.

Haven’t tried all the mounting styles yet, lots of customization with this one!

Built with a PEI plate, HMX Cheese, and topped with SA X-Wing from @novel.keys by @jabronus

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of taking an early look at a Stratum 80 from @artifact.industries, and it didn’t disappoint! This TKL is billed as being “made for modding” and it shows — from the magnetic enclosure and pogo connector all the way down to the customizable flex brick mounting system. The team behind this board is super passionate, and are already making adjustments based on early feedback.
