Thank you so much to Curtis and Jodi Peterson-Stigers for inviting us to play at this wonderful charity event funding the Interfaith Sanctuary Shelter!!

It was an honor to share the stage with so many other great local musicians, doing what our group originated doing: raising money for a good cause.

The arrangement we play is an amalgamation of some of our favorite tunes all combined into one, made for this event so if you want to know what we are about, just have a listen! 🎄

finally taking some of the ol @ganongdr 's advice and recording myself play and then transcribing myself

i didnt use any paper to get the best ideas flowing just from the ear and im surprised how many creative ideas i have and how much more vocabulary i use than i realize

i surprise myself too when i do a little ben webster sounding thing in the second chorus. listening to so much jazz has definitely paid off and it shows with the phrases i accidentally imitate others in

overall this was very beneficial and a big confidence boost :)

Introducing our first section leader, Jace! 🎉

Jace is a 2nd year Business Administration major and Music minor and is excited to help move the section into the great era of saxophone domination this season! He enjoys busking jazz during the year and Christmas music during the holidays! He only hopes to bring people, listeners and players, the same feeling that music brings him :) by @jace___jazz

MEET OUR TEAM OF MUSICIANS!!!
Jace Mitchell is a jazz saxophonist attending BSU to pursue his Minor degree in music. Despite being the youngest member of FOMO, he has managed to perform a lot in a short amount of time, from classical orchestra & theater programs— all the way to busking on 8th St. to make some quick $$$. Jace was also critical in helping to organize the horn section at the time of FOMO’s creation, and without him, the project wouldn’t be where it’s at!!

Thanks @nikbecc for photos slide one & two 📸

ive been trying to get better at playing unaccompanied and hearing changes in my head. i picked an easy tune to kind of work with because ive heard the changes so many times! it feels comfy getting into the groove with a tempo but im not great at playing super freely yet.

usually i dont post this kind of unpolished thing but i thought it would be a good motivator 💪 by @jace___jazz
