I don’t usually try to revive old projects but it seems like an important moment to share this again. Somehow, when I was 19, I thought it would be a good idea to take on a documentary project about the most complicated, hot button conflict in the world.

I spent 6 weeks traveling between Israel and the West Bank with a camera and a backpack interviewing activists, Rabbis, ex-militants, and bereaved family members. In a journey that has become one of the most formative experiences of my life.

Part of my youthfulness resulted in me having literally 0 marketing strategy. So the project I poured my heart into for 3 years has gone relatively unseen. The tender moments, the honesty, rare occurrences and generosity I was shown and captured in the film have not had the impact I set out to create.

I bring this up now to highlight the fact that with todays current events I think this film has more of an opportunity to make and impact and honors those that were generous enough to take part more than ever.

With that being said I do think it’s a really excellent jumping off for people, particularly of the younger generation who have a voice, to learn about the conflict in its current terms. It doesn’t delve into history so much as it shows the conditions of life for real people living in Israel and the West Bank.

If you’re interested in learning more I highly recommend you take a look at the film. It’s not long and it’s fast paced. It will lead you to asking better questions than you did before and find your own way to an understanding of what is going on today.

There is a link to the film in my bio. If you’ve seen it already consider sharing with a friend. Or boosting this post, anything would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Special thank you to @kappycake for his help as well as @dannyhanna15 and everyone else who participated in the film in one way or another.
