A few months ago, my grandparents gifted me an old Nikon EM 35mm camera, and I got to shoot on it for the first time at U.S. Open Fan Week last Wednesday. I had a great experience and look forward to using it again (I am also accepting donations if you would like to help fund my film shooting addiction).

Light is no longer a source of image, but image itself. Windows become stars as night becomes all.

These are some photos I got to take during my first few days in New York. Some are from the rooftop of my apartment (shot with a Fuji zoom lens), while the others were taken at the Brooklyn Bridge (using my old Nikon Series E lenses). Both were attached to my Fujifilm X-T100. I recently bought my first camera, so I decided to take it out to my backyard and test it out. These are the results.

When I came back in, my mom jokingly asked, “why would you want to shoot our ugly, messy backyard?” I replied, “it’s far more interesting than a perfect one.”
