Before the sun came up, we were already out there.

Headlamps on.
Pack on.
Just a few friends meeting up fit the @jackaloperace 47K recon run while most of the world was still asleep.

No fancy plans. No perfect conditions. Just a trail, some good people, and a reason to keep moving.

Then little by little, the darkness started giving way to light.

Watching the mountains slowly show themselves. Feeling that first bit of sunlight hit the trail.
Seeing the desert come alive.
Stopping for a second just to appreciate where we are.

The trail has a way of fixing that.

It reminds you to slow down.
To breathe.
To take in the view.
To appreciate the people beside you.

Because at the end of the day, we’re not going to remember every mile.

We’re going to remember who was there.
The conversations.
The sunrise.
The hard parts.
The views we stopped for.
And those mornings when we said, “Let’s go,” before we even knew what the day was going to bring.

That’s what running has become for us.

More than miles.

Get outside.
Find your people.
Take the long way.
And every once in a while, stop running long enough to look around.

There’s a whole lot of beauty out here. 🌵☀️⛰️

WE CHOOSE HARD THINGS TOGETHER…

The early mornings.
The dark trails.
The rocks under our feet.
The climbs that make you question why you signed up for this @jackaloperace 47K recon run in the first place. 😂

But somewhere along the way, you realize it’s not really about making things harder.

It’s about learning what you’re capable of.

Because life is going to bring challenges we never asked for. Things we can’t plan for. Moments that test us in ways a workout or a trail never could.

We run.
We power hike.
We get tired.
We help each other keep moving.

And then every once in a while, the trail gives you something back.

A quiet morning.
A wide-open desert.
The mountains in the distance.
A sky that stops you in your tracks.

Those moments make you appreciate the struggle a little more.

Because sometimes the reward isn’t reaching the top.

Sometimes it’s realizing how far you’ve already come.

Keep choosing the adventure.
Keep doing the hard things.
Keep getting outside.

And when life gets hard on its own… hopefully we’re a little more ready for it.

One trail. One step. One day at a time.

The @chucotowntrailblazersrunclub way!
🌵⛰️☀️

Thank you @jacobslivinit @eloisa28878 @enocagp57 @j.a.c.m.2 for doing hard things with us!

Savage recon run by the @chucotowntrailblazersrunclub of the Jackalope Race 29-mile course!
Great pace by @jacobslivinit and @j.a.c.m.2 and @eloisa28878 on that brutal Soledad Canyon climb 😎

Check out that Conejo Trail by the @southernnewmexicotrailalliance

Great to hear everybody had a great time and survived the torturous course. It is definitely not flat 😎

Way to go to @enocagp57 for casually completing his first TRAIL MARATHON! With 29+ miles of delicious suffering!

When you imagine a Jackalope?, do you picture it as an evil entity, a rare animal, or a magical friend?...

AN ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR A TRAIL RUN!

10 miles in the desert this morning. 🌵⛰️

Some miles felt easy. Some definitely didn’t. 😂
But that’s kind of the point.

Good trails, good views, tired legs, and a few trips along the way. You don’t always need a perfect run — sometimes you just need to get out there and see where the trail takes you.

Another morning in the books with the Chucotown Trailblazers and my friend @enocagp57! 🏜️

Come join us next time for a beautiful way to start your morning! 🌄

Run far. Get dirty. Keep exploring. 🤙🏽
