Today, Oye Faniyi and I gave school supplies to kids who truly needed them. Thanks to my nieces Khir Aleñar and Jellian Soriano, who organized the supplies and coordinated with points of contact, we made our way through rough roads, farm areas, and steep-slippery paths to reach children across different puroks of Barangay Mesaoy, New Corella, Davao del Norte. A little early Christmas for them — around 50 kids received school supplies. Grateful to have made a difference together.

It feels like just yesterday, and yet, today marks 8 years since I was told I might die without a liver transplant.

Back in 2016, my liver suddenly shut down without any clear reason, landing me in the hospital for weeks. The doctors couldn’t pinpoint the cause—be it a viral infection, alcohol, cirrhosis, or autoimmune disease. They ultimately suggested it might be due to the bodybuilding supplements I was taking, despite them being generally considered healthy (fish oil, BCAA, Vitamin C, CLA, etc.). Ironically, my dedication to health—eating properly and meeting my macros—may have been my undoing. 🤷🏻

At the time, I weighed about 195lbs, but within 2-3 weeks of the liver failure, I lost 55lbs. It was a nightmarish experience, with unbearable itchiness making sleep impossible as bilirubin levels surged in my bloodstream.

Despite it all, I didn’t panic. Scared and concerned? Yes, but I never lost hope. I kept believing I would recover from that hellish nightmare. My mind and soul were strong enough to hush the negativity. Sometimes, when you’re at your lowest point, you awaken something deep within you—the will to survive.

With prayer and manifesting positivity despite the odds, miracles can happen!💯🙏

I just want to share this story of mine and hopefully motivate and empower others to be better than themselves. Life as we plan may not be the road we get. We get knocked down hard, but that doesn’t mean we stay down. Get up and keep pushing; you are stronger than you think. No matter what—NEVER give up and stay consistent in whatever you do.

Embrace the challenges and let them shape you into a stronger, more resilient version of yourself. Believe in your inner strength, trust in the journey, and always remember that the human spirit is capable of overcoming even the most daunting obstacles. Your path may be difficult, but every step forward is a testament to your determination and courage.

Visited the farm today and took my time exploring every corner. Fed the chickens, checked the fish pond, walked through the quiet spaces, and enjoyed fresh coconut under the shade. There’s something peaceful about being surrounded by nature - it slows you down and reminds you to appreciate the simple things. by @jackbeastdak
