Out today: The Witch Trials 🖤 A requiem for the accused, in one of the darkest chapters of British history. @kantoschoir and @ellie.slorach intersperse spoken testimonies from the Pendle trials with music across four centuries, including spellbinding new music by @anna.thecomposer @rorywainwrightjohnston and @thecamdenreeves. Thank you @prestomusiccom for including this in today’s recommended releases 🙏🏻🙏🏻 🎧 Listen via the link in our bio 💿 Get yourself a copy at prestomusic.com 📸 @benreason_photo by @jackdavisaudio
🍾 Huge congratulations to @toby_carr_music, whose album ‘Softest Thunder’ is 🏆 No. 4 in the Apple Classical Top 100 🏆 Huge thanks to the teams @applemusic @appleclassical2000 @theorchard! It’s been a privilege to bring Toby’s fantastic and creative album to so many listeners worldwide 🙌🏻 #lute #applemusic #lovemyjob by @jackdavisaudio
🔔 It’s release day and we couldn’t be happier 🥲 that @applemusic @appleclassical2000 has featured Toby Carr’s ‘Softest Thunder’ as a headline classical release and at No. 2 in their New Releases listings. 🙌🏻🙌🏻 In an absolute cracker of a debut solo album, @toby_carr_music explores the soundworld of the Renaissance lute across four centuries 🎶, from Dowland and Robert Johnson to his own arrangements of Satie and Poulenc, alongside a very special new commission by @laurasnowdenguitar. (Sadly, still no lute emoji.) Our warmest congratulations to Toby! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Softest Thunder ⚡️ is out now — #linkinbio Cover 📸 @matthew_and_his_camera Session 📸 @foxbrush_films #lute #classicalmusic #renaissancemusic #applemusic by @jackdavisaudio
⚡️ It’s release week for Toby Carr’s debut solo album Softest Thunder 🎶 Here @toby_carr_music plays Eccles’s Aire (Ground) from The Mad Lover - one of the most beautifully melancholic tracks on the album and fast approaching half a million streams (thank you @applemusic 🙏🏻) On Thursday, Toby will also be appearing on @bbcradio3 In Tune 📻 to talk about and perform a few pieces from the album 🎙️ Softest Thunder is out this Friday 9 October! 🎧 🎥 @foxbrush_films 🎙️ @paul.andhis.neumanns / ✂️ @jackdavisaudio Recorded in #scotland #lute #classical #baroque #newalbum by @jackdavisaudio
Strozzi’s ‘Che so può fare’ as you’ve never heard it before, in a stunning arrangement for choir by @ellie.slorach @kantoschoir 😍 The first single from their forthcoming #album ‘The Witch Trials’ is available on all streaming platforms. 🎧 We look forward to sharing more as we count down towards its appropriately spooky 🧙‍♀️ release date: 30 October (let’s just pretend Halloween is on a Friday) 🎃👻 🎥 @benreason_photo 🎙️ @paul.andhis.neumanns / ✂️ @jackdavisaudio #classical #choir #strozzi #witches by @jackdavisaudio
A more haunting, emotional side to KIN 🫶🏻 Another #album sneak peek 👀, this time of @dottelettsbean and @joseph_havlat performing ‘La Delaïssádo’ (The Abandoned Girl 😥) from Joseph Canteloube’s Chants d’Auvergne. In his booklet essay, Michael Finnissy describes these songs as having the “mysterious poise of early Satie”. We think this one is rather beautiful 🥲 KIN is out 25 September (next week!). 💙💙 ➕ Pre-add/save the album now 🎧 or pre-order your copy from @prestomusiccom 🎥 @foxbrush_films 🎙️ @paul.andhis.neumanns / ✂️ @jackdavisaudio #classical #newrelease #folksong #artsong by @jackdavisaudio

Today’s the day! Scottish composer Helen Grime is widely known for her critically-acclaimed large scale orchestral works. The sixth recording in their series exploring the music of Scottish composers, @hebridesensemblemusic recording focuses on Helen Grimes chamber music, described in @guardian ‘the same qualities that characterise her largest orchestral canvases distinguish her work on the smallest scale too’. 📺 http://bit.ly/41hqiDq 🎧 https://orcd.co/helengrime 💿 http://bit.ly/45IwKom 🎥 @foxbrush_films 🎙️ @jackdavisaudio / @paul.andhis.neumanns #classical #newalbumrelease #newrelease #piano #edinburgh #violin #clarinet #cello by @jackdavisaudio
