Blue whales have a special part in my heart,
the largest animal know to us is still clinging on and sometimes in great numbers in areas with good foraging.
These are Pygmy Blue whales, how ironic considering they’re mammoth, size at 25m towards the long end. These singing nomads travel across oceans in search for food and are most commonly seen in the summer months around Portland Victoria. Since industrial whaling ceased only decades ago, blue whales have recovered slowly and through more extensive research and conservation efforts, future generations may see them too. by @jackdexton
