My best friend from JHS and I got into metal as kids in the 80s. We had these patched jeans jackets that we wore everywhere for years—skating and tagging and getting in fights and playing in our rock/funk high school band. Mine got stolen, so my buddy gave me his when he shipped off with the Marine Corps after HS. It was tore up and dirty, and sat in my childhood home closet for 30 years. I moved back home after my brother died and rediscovered this jacket, along with a bunch of patches I had collected over the years. So my very talented designer/seamstress friend Star @starrbelovedd —who is also the founder of @saintlamarce —agreed to fix it and patch it and customize it with a silk lining made out of fabric we found in #DTLA #garmentdistrict . The result is this beautiful, sentimental, meaningful jacket that reminds me of the fun and antics my old best friend Dave and I used to get up to. I got to catch Iron Maiden thanks to my dear friend @scottylovesthings and what a joy to wear this old jacket while rocking out to tunes from my childhood. #jacketgame taken in Los Angeles, California by @jacket.game

I’m surprised at myself for not having more local LA DJs up here yet, considering the idea for this channel came from the local legend@its_symonne, so let’s start getting that rectified: @lavenge_music is another local legend I have danced miles to. I caught up with him at a rooftop party and this incredible jacket. The detail and craftsmanship is reminiscent of Lavenge’s quality of music.
