Some skateboarding poses I did during my gesture workshop with @jennifer.p_679 a few months ago @warriorartcamp ! She suggested we watch videos we’re into for poses. I find the skateboarding culture pretty cool, so I watched some thrashers. Thanks for the class, Jennifer, I learned a lot ✨.

Some studies I’ve been doing of Nico Marlet ✨. I stumbled upon his new book, Boisterous Beasts and Deadly Dragons, in the wild. I love how he captures characters. The book describes his quiet, warm personality which was really nice to discover. I’m glad I decided to get this by @jackieecadiente

I’ve been reading a lot of fiction lately. Recently discovered Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s books thanks to a friend’s book swap party, where I got Mexican Gothic. It’s like Jane Eyre meets Frankenstein (the books not the monster). I’ve been hooked with her writing ever since. Growing up, I liked reading novels by Jane Austen and F. Scott Fitzgerald, and poetry by Cummings, Poe, Frost, and the like. I’d say Silvia’s a modern Jane Austen. It’s been refreshing to discover her work!

I’m currently reading her book, The Beautiful Ones, and I’m enjoying the main characters and their stark differences in personalities. Here are some quick sketches of Nina and Valerie by @jackieecadiente
