Week 38/52/2026 the first 14 shots are from my Canon when we went up Freda Creek. So picturesque. I was kind of hoping to see a bear but no luck. We had such a lovely afternoon with a fire and good eats. Selfies also from that afternoon followed by more Canon of the moon and Miss Penny getting some sun, flowers from my garden and last but not least, 3 of my all time favourite faces in one picture. Lily and Trina travelled to Hope to watch Jackson play hockey and got what I wanted once the game was over. Thanks fam!!! I’m so grateful. ❤️

Week 37/52/2026 Celebrating three important Virgos, missing Lily, record shopping, good eats, surprise visit with Uncle Ralph, my dearest Dad who is now 81, apples and our neighbourhood bear who was determined to get something so when he found no apples, ate all the pears, my dahlias, the beautiful moon and a whale sighting from the ferry. It was a great week still feeling warm and summery but fall is knocking on the door and sweater weather is on its way. I’m not ready. What poor grammar!!!! 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ by @jacklily

Our5th Savary adventure, 4th at the unique and beautiful Cattermole cabin. Friendship is everything and we truly do it up right for our annual trip. Leopard print year was a huge hit! The food was delectable as ever, drinks were plenty and fresh and love and laughter were flowing in gigantic waves over the six of us. I’m so grateful. To say I love my Dad would be an understatement. He’s the center of our clan with the biggest heart. He’d give you the shirt off his back if it helped. He’s a joker, very kind and also stubborn when you try to help him. He’s awesome and our family is so lucky we get to celebrate 81 years of him. I love you beyond words Dad. Tomorrow I return to work after 73 days off. While summer still has a couple weeks left to it, I feel like when school starts again, it marks the end.

The sun continues shining hot and bright in the sky but the crickets are gossiping night and day. There is a chill in the air already and in certain places, leaves are falling with only a touch of wind in the air to take them down. The fermented smell of rotting blackberries fills my nose on my nightly walk. I’m picking the last of my tomatoes and mourning the earlier sunset daily. We are actually using our quilt now and questioning closing the window at night. Fall is tiptoeing in and I’m not ready for it. It feels too soon. I wasn’t ready for Lily to leave for school. This summer we didn’t travel and the weather was definitely not as consistently hot as it usually is. I swam at Haslam one time compared to almost nightly last summer. We didn’t host as many gatherings. It was a different summer. Not bad different just a little weird but also wonderful and filled with family, friends, good eats and everyday happy especially because both kids were home. Who knows what next summer will bring but I can hope for more of the same maybe with a few more swims. A local summer is a good summer. by @jacklily

Week 34/52/2026

Our little garden vs. a spectacular one in Richmond. Also, the moon, Jackson and the most delicious lemon rhubarb tart that he made, an apple with determination, Granny Sunday at the Dub plus a couple of us. Lily leaves this week. I go back to work next week. Change is coming. The ‘ber months are here. Time keeps moving. Life is crazy, good, all over the map and everything. ❤️

Summer Bakemas Blackberry Crisp edition.

-preheat your oven to 375
-might be a little late in the season, but you need around 3 cups of berries
-to the berries, asd 1/2 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of brown sugar with 2tsps cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice. Mix well then place in a baking dish. For a thicker berry bottom, use a smaller dish.

-in a separate bowl, grate 2/3 cup ice cold butter. Add 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup rolled oats and 1/2 cup crushed biscoff cookies. Mix well then dump onto your berries.

-bake approximately 20 minutes or until crisp topping is golden and the berries are bubbling.

-enjoy warm served with whip or ice cream.

Use this recipe with any berries or apples. It’s really all about the crumble topping. Week 33/52/2026 PART 1.

Savary Island, where the magic always gets me. A week of happy togetherness coupled with a boot camp for the body. We eat well, paint, puzzle, swim but also manage at least 12K or more steps a day going up and down to the beach or just walking the island. Good stuff for the mind and body. ❤️😆
