My mother was the bravest, smartest, funniest, and most resilient person I ever knew. She was never afraid to speak her mind and let people know what she truly thought. She had the best laugh I’ve ever heard, and a mind like no one else. There will never be another human like her ever again, as she has touched the lives of so many people from all throughout her life. Her resiliency and determination have always motivated me all throughout my life, as she battled with countless conditions and disabilities. Life wasn’t fair to her in the slightest, but I look back on all of the cool shit that she got to experience, all of the fun travels she got to go on, like our vacations to Chicago and LA and it makes me feel a little better.

I’ve been without my mother for about a week now, and it’s been indescribably painful. My mind is filled with an array of emotions. Grief and sadness, mixed with anger and confusion, and disbelief because I will never see her or talk to her again. However, I am so grateful that my mom was the one who raised me and got to see me accomplish so much with my life. She got to see me work for a transit agency (which is something she’s known I’ve always wanted to since before I could even talk), get my own apartment, fall in love, graduate high school and start college and even if she didn’t see me do all of those things, at the end of the day, she would still tell me how proud she is of me and how much she loved me. I wish she was still here to braid my hair, as she used to do that for me every night before I went to bed until her carpal tunnel got too rough for her, or edit this caption for punctuation and grammar, because she was such a kickass copy editor. Thank you so much for all the love, care, and warm hugs you gave me. You were the best mom ever, and I will never ever forget you, and I’ll make sure that no one else does too. May you rest in peace, and never feel a single ounce of pain again ❤️ by @jacklyn1000000
