I’m honored to share that I recently joined the LifeShare Foundation as a board member. LifeShare’s mission is deeply personal to me, and I’m thrilled for the opportunity to help raise awareness and support those impacted by organ donation. ❤️

In 2021, my dad received a donor heart, a gift that gave him a second chance and gave us more time together. I’ll never stop being grateful for the donor and their family who made that possible.

April is Donate Life Month, a time to celebrate the lifesaving power of organ, eye and tissue donation. In Oklahoma, approximately 800 of our friends, neighbors and loved ones are waiting for a lifesaving or life-enhancing transplant. These transplants offer patients another chance at a healthy, happy life and that hope is only possible when people make the compassionate choice to register as donors.

One person can save up to eight lives and enhance 75 more. By registering as a donor and sharing your decision with your family, you bring hope to all those still waiting.

Gene Rickman was the photojournalist us KFOR reporters begged to work with. It’s not just because he was talented— it’s because he was a true friend and one of the funniest people to be around. He loved to get the worst screen grabs of his reporter buddies to showcase in his ever growing screen saver collection on his computer. It sounds cruel but trust me, it was an honor to be featured. To know him was to love him. I will miss you, my friend. I hope where you are has unlimited Thanksgiving sandwiches from the Mule.🤍 by @jacklynchapp
