Hello Bridgerton and the Royal Academy of Dance 🤩

This RAD Why Dance Matters podcast episode is with guest Jack Murphy, acclaimed choreographer and movement director!

Initially an actor, Jack became a movement director (training in part at the RAD), helping actors find a physicality to connect them with their characters.

His work is seen at its most captivating in Bridgerton, which shakes up the rules of period drama and puts dance at its centre. His dance is rooted in why people dance, who they truly are. @jackmurphy2020

Forgive me my indulgence. This day last week I was all excited about the possibility of giving an acceptance speech - it wasn’t to be! Here we are a week later and the sentiments remain the same - and always will!

This is wonderful – Thank you to the Panel!
Fellow nominees, an honour to be nominated alongside you.
This is for every dancer who has ever danced on Bridgerton, you truly are my celestial stars.
Thank you, Shonda, Betsy, Showrunners, all at Shondaland and Netflix for this honour, I treasure it with all my heart.
To ALL the outstanding HOD’s, Crew and Cast of Bridgerton: Writers, Directors, Art Dept, DOP’S, Production, WHMU, Camera, Grips, LX, Music, AD’S - IT IS A JOY TO COLLAORATE WITH YOU!
My fabulous assistants of S4, Nicole, Jenny and Max without whom I would not be standing here, all the love!
Deepest gratitude to Jess Brownell, Tom Verica, Michelle Wright, you caught me when I was falling and guided me on my dream filled with faith, trust and belief.
Personally, 10 years ago, I was burnt – this Phoenix has risen – well done Sean - you did good boy!
Thank you! by @jackmurphy2020

A very special shout out to the one and only @nicolealphonce who carried the lions share of assistance on S4, Bridgerton. Totally understands the role; always listening, responding and creating results for others. I adore creating a dance with and on her, the process is always playful and exhilarating. Thank you, Nicole for all you do for me, in and out of the studio. All the love. Jack x 💫 by @jackmurphy2020

Other than being my Mother’s Son, Bridgerton is the greatest privilege of my life! I am truly honoured to Choreograph a show with such great integrity at it’s heart and work with a Cast and Crew I can truly call family. Thank you Bridgerton for facilitating these extraordinary events I never dreamt of experiencing. Your belief in me is the greatest award I could ever ask for. Thank you. Love, Jack x PS. I got to meet the genius that is @krisbowersmusic this evening. 🙏
