This movie truly changed my life. Watching it back over for this final QC, it really feels like a document of what being 23 feels like. The spontaneity, the aimlessness, the impatience for something to start happening, that feeling of being on a track laid out before, but not understanding what that means. I spent my time at 23 feeling like I was doing nothing and wasting my time, so my team and I set out to change that.

Above all, this is a film about friendship, and the tensions and joys that come with it. Friends are one of the few spots of agency we get in life, where we are in control of whom we surround ourselves with. It may be a bit saccharine, but I can honestly say with sincerity that making this film has made me a better friend. It taught me to be patient, to reach out, and to make time for people I love, because it can all go away.

Yu is someone whom I met in the back of the bus in middle school, and he changed my life when he agreed to go on this journey with me. Truly one of the best guys. A real pal.

Kristen, Conor, Joe, James, Amiel, Christian, Jackie, Phil, Michael, Effie, and many other members of this crew spoiled me rotten with laughs and memories that will last a lifetime. This cast (Ashakee, Kaya, Lazz, Lillo, Jupiter, Pat, Jeff, Ryan, Ryan, Austen, Sandro, Ron, Kumi, Brian, and so many others) dedicated their time and spirit to this project through it all, and they’ll each have a special place in my heart. Same to everyone who gave advice, supported monetarily, came to a screening, or decided to watch it from here on out. Thank you.

So we made our first feature film. It won’t be our last, but it’s the start. If you’re endlessly scrolling Netflix or HBO for something to watch, maybe check this out. It’s a little long in the tooth and scrappy, but I think you’ll enjoy it.
