UPDATE : Inari had a good checkup last week, with blood pressure stabilized and creatinine values lower in her blood work, indicating increased kidney function. She also has gained 2.5 lbs in the past week. She has been eating and drinking every day and made it out to the opening day of the polo season at King's Family Vineyard. She has been really strong and persistent and I'm very proud of her.

I have been working from home and staying by her side to make sure she gets meals and medication. She has another checkup this Thursday and a holistic consultation in Crozet early next week.

UPDATE ON INARI - I am so grateful for the support I have received from everyone! Not just monetarily, but for those who have reached out about the situation, and for anyone who has kept her in their thoughts and prayers. It has made both of us feel less alone!

She is home from Virginia Tech after 4 days of hospitalization getting fluid therapy and being assessed. She appears to have an upper urinary tract infection which she is on antibiotics for and was still having elevated kidney values when she left.

She is in delicate condition, but has been eating and drinking consistently at home and taking meds for blood pressure and to clear the infection. The vets were unsure whether her condition is primarily due to acute kidney injury or a chronic condition or both. In the case of acute injury the kidneys can heal, but it takes time, 1-3 months. If it is chronic what has been damaged is likely irreversible, though the condition can potentially still be managed with a special diet and medication and has a better prognosis if acute injury was what put her in jeopardy and can be eliminated, which gets her back at her former (as of March) baseline. I am giving her lots of love and staying by her side.

I have trouble doing this sort of thing for myself but my sister has generously created this fund. My beautiful little wolf is in trouble. She is at VA Tech right now and appears to have a congenital kidney condition. She could use any prayers or support you can give her. I am trying to afford the best care possible.
