@olivier.rioux à offert 10 places à nos jeunes pour participer à une clinique de basketball.

À sa manière, il redonne à la communauté de basketball qui lui a donné beaucoup de soutien.
Bravo aux 10 enfants qui y participeront:

Can I tell you a story...
The year is 95-96 and It's my last year in high school. At that time I was top 20 player in the school according to my peers. I had dream of getting recruited to play in the NCAA and killing the GMAA league at that time. The year prior the coach told me i would have more playing time.
🚨Problem🚨...there is a new coach...his name is Jean Dorcely...

Made me bench that whole year except for the only tournament game I had and scored 2 free throws. I was 3rd string PG behind G.Rosalva and C.Biassou.

I was pissed we butted heads...but i learned to watch the game. I learned plays and stats. I also learned to bring water to my teammates. When i got injured and dislocated my shoulder in practice, he was at the hospital with me ( cursed the shit out of me) but made sure I got home to my mom.

He gave me a shot at coaching. I am a descendant of his knowledge. What John Thompson was to Georgetown, Jean Dorcely was to my life and to others. He challenged us as young black teens becausr he knew the world and society would be the way it is with us 'til this day.

I want to thank him for everything you have done by being in my life.

You are a mentor, my big brother and a father figure that I needed. Love you man. Respect to your work. I'm just filling your shoes when the opportunity is there.

We got so many stories to tell about him and his coaching clique... taken in Académie Dunton by @jackpotentiel

Well...
This man is the man.
I'm from his bloodline.
Maybe this picture will bring answers to some or questions but know this: he must of went through a lot and was a wealthy man. Sent his kids to USA and Canada. Had land a d rum distilleries, a business man with boutiques. And...yes...lots of children (different times). Nevertheless his traumas, his values, his resilience, his education and knowledge went to his kids and they pass them on to us.

So when this province talks about immigration and think that our parents had to come to live a better life, they are wrong. Some of them did because of politics/ politricks. Trust me when I say his kids lived well and wealthy. Just challenging to start from scratch but his kids they did it.

Food for thought...if this speaks to you comment or like. No jugement here. taken in Haiti Cheri by @jackpotentiel
