They done mess with the wrong Haitian 😂 This is my first time visiting the Dominican Republic, a neighboring country to Haiti. I’ve always heard stories about the discrimination Haitians face here… but today, I experienced it firsthand.

On my way back from a run, my cousin and I were stopped by two cops and held for over 2 hours. They questioned us, escalated the situation, and even called their chief officer. Thankfully, we had nothing on us. After reviewing my documents—and realizing who I am and what I do—the chief shifted his approach and even gave me his personal number in case anything like this happens again.

But that moment opened my eyes.

Because not everyone gets that outcome.

Many of my people go through this every single day without protection, without recognition, without a voice.

It’s sad to witness the level of discrimination Haitians and Black people still face here. This isn’t just a story—it’s a reality.

I’m sharing this to bring awareness, not hate.
