don’t think twice it’s all right 🐓 🌅

this is one of my favorite Bob Dylan tunes. I was probably introduced to it by my parents while I was in utero, but the first time I played it was likely between the ages of 10 and 12 with @donggreenwood! And many times since..
Essential listening:
1.) the @bobdylan original (an amazing recording and performance).
2.) for a screamin’ blues rendition check out the @ericclapton live at Madison Square Garden version
3.) for a beautifully haunting reharmonized take check out a fellow Madison, WI local @loukasound’s version!

gretsch groove 🪩

i love picking up my baritone, loading up a beat and just groovin. i played bass a few years before really getting into guitar and i feel like the baritone is the best of both worlds 🤤

bauhaus bop🕺

The first spin with the Mulecaster from @muleresonatorguitars. Guitars don’t ‘play themselves’ but this one sure gets close. I dialed up some drum grooves and just jammed for an hour. Playing this metal hollow-body beast is a strange and wonderful feeling. Thanks to Matt and the team at Mule for making this dream machine! More to come I’m sure.

cajun moon 🌕

first official @jackriffs_ collab! it was a blast getting together with one of my main musical collaborators (and best buds) @marcoostru for a rendition of the classic J.J. Cale tune ‘Cajun Moon’. We spent the frigid morning at my cabin dialing this in (the wood stove fire helped🔥!)

If you don’t know @jjcaleofficial , he was a monster musician, guitarist and the writer behind many hits that @ericclapton and many others recorded (After Midnight, Cocaine, Call Me The Breeze, Magnolia..) You may have also heard @johnmayer and @willienelsonofficial recordings of his tunes. Listen to JJ’s versions and records if you haven’t - they are great albums!

Hopefully I’ll be doing more of these collabs. Definitely more work but lots of fun.
