This first picture was taken when I had been in rehab for 3 months. It was also the same exact day C*VID shut everything down. Crowns just so happened to be playing in the city close to where I was, and since everything shut down and their show was cancelled, they came out and did an acoustic set at the facility!

Just 1 year later, I was touring with Crowns full-time… 1 year after that, I was getting married... AND JUST 10 MONTHS AFTER THAT, @lynnlee_williams and I found out we would be expecting our first daughter!

Jesus changed my life more abundantly than I could have ever imagined! God showed me I don’t have to have it all together for Him to do a work in me. Jesus needed my broken and repentant heart. When I try to make sense of the last half of my 20’s, I’m reminded of this verse:
“God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong…so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭27‬-‭29‬
Anything you see as “good” in my life is ONLY because God is gracious and merciful!!

Over the past few years on the road, I have met people who have lost all hope. I’ve seen families so broken over their loved one’s sin, they don’t see any sign of restoration. I get to look at those people with so much hope and SO much confidence in our Savior. If God can pull me from the mess I made, he can do the same for anyone! I have hope for everyone because I know how Jesus radically changed my life when I was a train wreck!

I’m so thankful for how God has used Crowns in my life and the lives of many! I’ll never forget this experience.

Happy Mother’s Day to the best person I’ve ever met! I want to honor you in this small way. Nobody will ever know how much you sacrifice, the endless hours of nursing, the “being everything you possibly can” for our girls. The constant selflessness you show to our girls is insane. The diligent researching before blindly doing something just because that’s “what people do”. There’s not anybody on this planet that can hold a candle to what you do! Watching how you parent has pushed me to be the best Dad I possibly can be. You’re an excellent human being in everything you do…so of course that would bleed into motherhood. I love you to the moon and back, and so do our girls. They have no idea what they have. I didn’t until I did. ❤️ by @jackryanwilliams

How it was vs. how it’s going

I turned 30 today! That first picture was my first day at a rehab facility where Jesus fully captured my heart. The second picture is evidence that God is a Restorer and He never leaves you in the valley…even if you’re the one with the shovel.

As I leave my 20s behind, I am reminded that God isn’t only in the valleys life gives you…but He’s also in the ones you dig yourself. I’ve put myself in enough valleys to know at the bottom, He’s there. And it isn’t His Strong Hand or His Just Nature that lead me to repentance, but the Bible says it’s His kindness. And I have seen that to be true! Thank you Jesus!

When I was in rehab, I walked passed a verse that was nailed to a tree. “I will restore to you the years the swarming locust have eaten away” Joel 2:25. I literally laughed when I read it because I had no faith that my life could be turned around for the better. God has massively proven me wrong. I have a beautiful family, church, and newness of life.

I didn’t have to get my act together. I didn’t even have to start doing the right things. He loved me as I was, but He wouldn’t let me stay there. His grace changes me. So if you’re still reading this weird happy birthday to myself post, know Jesus saves and his blood is still setting people free today! by @jackryanwilliams
